Thank you for raising this point. A three year warranty is great for peace of mind but I don't want to have to deal with a broken HFC either way.

All this talk about how long the cat will last has me curious. How likely am I going to see cat problems if I'm n/a and only dd with some spirited driving tossed in?

FT-86 SpeedFactory Catted UEL Header

Our high flow cats usually last around 80k miles with mainly street driving on the 370Z's and G37's. Those engines run pretty hot so I would imagine these would last at least that long if not longer knowing the quality of the parts FT-86 SpeedFactory uses.

My bigger concern is the location of the HFC. Have you guys done track testing and has the HFC held up? As I'm sure you know, our exhausts get really hot at the track. The worst thing would be for the HFC to blow out or break apart, especially with it being located so close to the engine.
The stock one held up fine in all our track days. Don't see why the hfc would have issues.

Is the cat removable? I could have sworn i read that about these headers. If they offer a 3 yr on their cat and 3 yr on their headers as listed by them above, I would imagine you could just buy a cat alone should yours break. If they do offer us the ability to purchase the cat alone without having to buy a new header thats some piece of mind should yours poop the bed.

Have you guys done a dyno of just the header and a tune with no other mods? Sounds like the best two mods for buck.

Have you looked at the photos on the first page? The cat is welded and is part of the 1 piece header, I have yet to see a 1 piece header on the market with a removable cat (that's not designed for a turbo kit).

Any word yet if this is compatible with the Australian RHD 86's?

I don't see why it won't fit a RHD.

Usually if there is an issue it's the over pipe.

Seriously though, when is this coming out? I've saved up enough money for either a cat back or a header, now it's just the matter of deciding which to commit to... If the time is too lucrative, can I get a season that the header will be open to the public?!
