I easily got my car in CA without the bumper drilled. I simply asked the dealer not to do it.

All the local dealers failed me and refused to do dealer trades for these specifications..

Sooo called Roseville Scion, looks like one just came off the truck and the guy who gets cars ready called in sick that day!!

Thursday will hopefully be the day I pick her up

Happy for you (although your dealers are pathetic).

Have fun breaking her in, and please post up pics.

Also, with how poorly your local dealers performed, I'd never take it back for routine service and do it myself but with Toyota parts.

Any mods in mind?

While it's free I'll be taking it to dealers all over the state haha ( while at school that is)

I've already ordered the perrin resonated catback and Toyota symbols!

Sad thing is I'm going to have to drive it from Sacramento to Fresno right after. It's good to get some of those break in miles done but I'm worried about keeping it at one cruising speed/rpm for too long :/

There is some mixed stuff about break in, any tips or suggestions how to deal with these miles?

I'm in the "Toyota Knows Best" camp and more or less followed the easy break-in schedule in the manual. Briefly:

--Easy on the brakes the first 200 miles
--<4K rpm the first 1K miles
--Avoid constant rpm's for long

Before leaving the dealer's lot with you new car I'd inspect inside and out for any issues. I'd also take a good tire pressure gauge and set all four to factory 32 psi cold. Then program (owner's manual, forgot how) your shift light to blink on at 4K rpm, it helps restrain the urge.

To vary rpm's and if you have time, I'd consider this scenic route home if road conditions permit:

https://www.google.com/maps/preview#...!1e1!2b1&fid=0

Then refill with your favorite premium fuel, sometimes dealers skimp and supply regular grade instead of required premium.

And keep in mind that your warranty covers a free four-wheel alignment during the first (I think, check warranty guide) 18 months or 12K miles. Sooner is better. The words to say to the service writer are "wanders at freeway speed on flat road, no wind, all pressures set correctly". Choose a dealer with an in-house alignment rack, preferable to a sublet job IMO.

Have fun, post pics!

Thank you sir!!
So much info in one post, now the question is does a constant rpm hurt it that much if under 4K rpm? I was thinking maybe stopping slot or something

If you vary the rpm between 3,000 and 4,000, in 6th gear, with the MT, that puts you between 65 and 90 MPH.

That ought to get you to Fresno in good time and still vary the speed ...

Or, take route 49 down, which would be way more fun.....

Well, I'm just speculating, but I would suggest around 5-10 minutes at any set speed.

Have a safe trip!

My friend got his frs from Ontario scion and they left the front license plate bracket out. On the other hand Puente hill scion where I got it had my license plate bracket drilled in and it left a mark on my bumper too.
