Can we swap numbers for the meet tomorrow? I'm not even sure who is in charge of the planning part of it

Good drive today everyone! thanks to @Clipdat and @Kamakanani0 for organizing. A little crowded with the odd cyclist here and there, but hope everyone had fun. Since i was leading, no appearances in my gopro, oh well. Merry Xmas to everyone!

Thanks to everyone who made it out yesterday for what very well could be the last drive of the year! In true fashion, only a few people replied and said they were coming and then we had a total of 10 cars, wow! What a great community of passionate 86 owners we have here in the bay area!

Glad that everyone had a safe and enjoyable drive, despite the traffic and cyclists. @jwlee7ucla and I ended up continuing on and doing Palomares which was pretty fun despite running into some traffic toward the end.

I ended up topping off my tank with 4.5 gallons of 100 octane in Sunol, and then went back up Palomares, Redwood, and Pinehurst. I know some people might say it was placebo, but after filling up with the 100 octane I felt a fairly dramatic increase in acceleration and power above 4.5k RPM. The engine just screamed and the acceleration literally pushed me back in the seat. Very much different than the engine response I had experienced earlier in the day on Shell 91 octane. Needless to say this made for a very fun blast back up these three fun driving roads.

Lastly, special mention to @BPM and his WRB BRZ with neon wheels. Great job at rocking an extremely low and amazing looking BRZ yet still keeping it functional enough to hang with us on the twisties! Great balance of form and function, imo. I especially love the way that the Greddy EVO 3 sits angled slightly upward - looks amazing with the RB rear diffuser.

Hope everyone had a great holiday, cheers!

Way to tease about the exhaust and diffuser but not give is any rear end pics...

happy Monday... since I had some free time on my hands I decided to go on a spur-of-the-moment drive through some of the local backroads.

I was going to do a long-range scouting mission up to Lake Berryessa but got a late start and had to be back in time for dinner, so I nixed that idea and hit the more familiar roads.

From Castro Valley, up Redwood Rd to Skyline and Grizzly Peak. Passed by The Wall but didn't stop as the view was pretty hazy today from up there. Continued on to Wildcat Canyon down to San Pablo Dam Rd and on to Moraga, where I took the turn to Canyon Rd and then to Pinehurst Rd. Great drive but a lot of bicyclists and people walking their dogs out there.

Coming down the final hairpins of Pinehurst, I got held up by a slower SUV so when I arrived at Redwood Rd again, I stopped, turned around and hit Pinehurst again, before returning to Redwood for the final cruise downhill home. Well on the way home I decided to check out another squiggly line on the map that might have been a fun drive, but it turned out to be a dead end and dotted with farms and barns so it didn't pan out. All in all a fun few hours of driving, I guess you could call it a quick lap of the East Bay.

One of these days I will get up there to Lake Berryessa. I remember smooth, beautiful roads along the lake like something out of a car commercial when I drove there years ago.

I use to run Berryessa all the time on the motorcycle and car. Definately a fantastic drive and worth the extra hour north east. Gets squiggly during the weekends. Definately a weekday road to hit!
