Is there a whitelist / blacklist for Austin? I am normally not one to complain but just had a very bad experience with Discount Tire (the one by the domain on Braker). I ordered Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport for my impreza which they listed as "in stock". My wife brought the car in at the scheduled time and they then (not notifying her before) said the stock on the webpage was wrong. So far I am understanding - sometimes internet stock is wrong though they should have called earlier in the day so she could refer them to me.
But then they told her they would just give her the same tire only the next model up. She even asked "are these high performance tires?" and they told her yes. And they put on Perelli P4 all seasons. So in summary they said: - same brand of tire but a better model (lie) - same type of tire (lie - the one I ordered is a high performance summer tire, they installed a touring all season tire) - high performance sport tire (lie) - more mileage tire (true) - more expensive tire (true by a whopping $5 per tire...) The fact that they would intentionally mislead my wife is what makes me mad, not that their webpage was wrong. Now she feels really bad about getting the wrong type of tires when its not her fault. Grrrrr |

Time for you to take the car to the shop and demand to speak to the manager. At the very least they owe you the tires you requested and a sincere apology. [All at no charge, of course.] If that manager is in the least bit hesitant, I'd immediately take my complaint up the chain to the district manager. [Mentioning the reach of complaints on social media can't hurt either!] Best of luck in getting this resolved to your satisfaction with the least amount of hassle.

What @CoolBReeZe said!
My mom got screwed by Lamb's once on an oil change. Gave her dino oil when she paid for synthetic. Not to mention they tried to get her to pay for a ton of unnecessary services. She went there because my cousin worked there as a mechanic, he quit a few months later because they tried to make him do some unethical things. He never elaborated though... I just stay away lol Quote:

Discount Tire is always hit or miss depending on the location. I've never had problems with the one on 183 and anderson mill but fuck if I'll ever go back to the one off I-35 and Stassney or William Cannon or whatever.
Probably just some schmuck hourly guy trying to make a sale. I'd be fucking furious if I went in for High Performance tires and got All Seasons. Just go back in there and talk about how she specifically asked about high performance tires and then read up on "merchantability" and "fitness for a particular purpose". Find a guy who works there who actually listens to you and have him order the tires through tirerack.com, problem solved. |

Discount Tire off I-35 in Round Rock does a pretty good job.

Anyone really wanting the speedline wide mirrors with heating and LED turn signals? I just installed mine today and while I love the functionality I don't love the look... my entire car is white, black and silver and I'm not liking the splash of blue so much.
Here is the thread about them http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51863 I bought them from phastek in Houston and they are currently backordered. I got them on sale and would be happy to sell to someone local at the price I paid without shipping so you can save some money too (receipt + original box etc). I'll even install them for you (but not the turn signals - or heaters unless your car has the heater wiring already - my BRZ did) I'll leave them on for now in case the look grows on me and in case someone wants to see them installed. EDIT: for now no longer available... wife loves them too much. Sorry Last edited by MysteryMachine; 12-25-2013 at 06:24 PM. |

Man, those Rexpeed wide mirrors I put on my FR-S are one of my favorite upgrades. No blind spot at all and the blue looks great on Ultramarine. I'm assuming those mirrors are probably similar.

if anyone is planning on doing lower spring, is highly recommend that they do it themselves with the help of 1 or 2 buddies. it is very do-able and will save you a good amount of money on install!
