Winjet JDM look-a-like headlights for the Scion FRS have been hot since SEMA, but not a lot to talk about until we got our hands on them here at the shop. So in classic SpeedFactory fashion we got sets in and did our best to show you how they work, and can now answer any question you got on them.

They come with a halogen bulb already installed and ready for you to bolt in and go. They will fit a HID kit like one from Diode Dynamics which we test fit with the Winjet Headlights here in the shop.

Lets start off with some photos. We choose to go with the black housing for this. We got Chrome ones in too but only so many hours in a day.

Video is uploading now.... will add it later tonight once the upload completes. Hit our youtube page to see it as soon as the upload finishes. ( http://www.youtube.com/channel/UChDYhVRjSigVidaiCXsgzNQ )

Here is a comparison of the DRL function.

Video correction: You DO NOT lose your high-beam function with these headlights!!!

So what is your hi-beam if you don't lose your hi-beam function? Do the DRLs turn on to full power? Does the bulb go to a higher intensity? Is there a cut-off that is pushed down?

This is discussed in the Winjet threads, but there is a flap that partially covers the projector while in low beam operation. When you put on your high beams, the flap is moved out of the way to allow more light from the projector. The LEDs are strictly for DRL.

@fteightysix Thank you! I'm trying to keep a JDM OEM+ theme on the car, but this is making it difficult. Will keep an eye on how the hold up over time or see if more options become available from the JDM market.

there are physical differences between the jdm/10series lights and the winjets.
