I've been a huge Toyota fan boy since I was a kid, and it pained me to hear that the Celica was being discontinued. In my mind, that was their last "fun" car. I really wish they'd drop the Matrix and bring over the Corolla hatch, but that's never going to happen.
That being said, while I don't particularly mind Scion badges, it's just a mental thing for me. It's like when you go to a restaurant, and you ask for Coke, and they say "Sorry, we only have Pepsi, will that be alright?" You have that sort of "Yeah, I guess so." Not the best analogy, but close enough. Also, I have big plans for the styling of my 86, and it needed the Toyota badges for that. |

The UK market has 90% of 86's sold as Toyotas and 10% as Subaru, that's a much smaller volume than the US market (<3,000 units over a year per the article below, compared to ~30,000 in the US), it would be relatively trivial to skew the numbers more in Subaru's favor by reducing the output to a couple other markets. Does that mean that the demand for the GT86 is 9x more than the demand for BRZ? I really doubt that, especially in the land that birthed Colin Mcrae... http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=28149 |

I don't have anything against the Scion logo really but I did not like how cluttered my rear end looked with the huge Scion logo and the FR-S badge.
So on my rear end I removed the FR-S badge and replaced the Scion logo with the 86 piston badge. It looks really nice and clean. I still have my Scion badge on the front though. |

Has anyone taken off the FR-S badge and replaced with the GT86 logo? This way it would show on the back as Scion (top, middle) Toyota (left) and GT86 (right).
