I have the Hotchkis springs on my car, and I absolutely love them. I don't have that full kit however. But I can't see why that wouldn't be a great option for a street/autoX car.

I have the springs on my car with stock dampers. I like them. I have some 18x8.5 +45 rims 245 tires. I had to grind the left spring perch slightly since it was too close to the tire for my comfort. With the lower offset wheels it should be ok. I got the front crash bolts and maxed negative camber. I have been meaning to measure camber, have the gauge in the garage just never got around to it. From what I read the alignment stays within reason with these springs so i have been in no rush.

I have the Hotchkis stage 1, aka springs and front and rear ARB's. I also have the Hotchkis strut tower brace. I'm not driving 10/10ths, its' just my daily driver and weekend mountain drives. That said, I love how it handles, and I have played with the ARB settings, and have noticed differences. Install was easy, I followed the how-to's on here. I have not had the alignment checked, I was waiting to let the springs settle, which they should be by now. Rear camber is noticeable, but not bad, front is less noticeable. My only alignment concern is the toe, I may add more camber to the front, once I get it on the rack, with some crash bolts.
From a daily driving view, it is stiffer, and you feel the bumps more, but the Hotchkis springs are one of the softest drop springs out there. I'm still of the soft spring/stiff bar mentality, and that's what my former boss, Bob Riley (look up Riley and Scott) suggested. The guys at Hotchkis are good to work with too, Aaron Ogawa is their lead designer, and also posts on here as @Hotchkis , very helpful regarding setup. I met John Hotchkis at the Hot Rod Power Tour open house, again, very friendly and down to earth. |
