I do agree with you that it certainly isn't 100k super car, but I strictly store mine for two reasons:

1. Cause I can

2. Cause I'd prefer to abuse mine during the summer doing lapping and track stuff. Rust is also a big consideration, yes I know get it crowned etc... But while it saves the car, it's also perpetually dirty. At this stage in my life, I don't really want to work on a dirty grimy car anymore.
