You should get the plain Varrstoen caps, they look pretty sweet.

You can get those wheels thru ebay for very cheap. About 1 000$...

Need tire selection assistance

Looking for some advice on what tires to run with my varrstoen es221 18x8.5 +45 wheels. I'm not currently lowered but I plan to skip springs and get coils in the next 3-6 months with any recommendations on that. I'm worried about rubbing issues on the stock suspension so I'll get coils at the same time if I really need to. They are all quite expensive though. I will only be driving on the street but I want it to look nice. Can't lower tooooooo much cause the roads I. California are garbage, even the freeways nowadays. Wondering if I have to get 35 series tires for no rubbing. And how wide can I go on the 8.5 wheel and not have any fitment issues down the road?

Thanks in advance!

My summer setup is 225/40ZR18 on 18x8.5 +47 front and 245/35ZR18 on 18x9.5 +38 on the rear. I'm dropped on kw v3 pretty low not slammed and I have no rubbing issues at all. I think you'll be ok with 225/40 all around. It was recommended that I run a 35 in the back.

I read somewhere that 245/35/18 would work with the 8.5, front and back without rubbing fender or suspension or anything else. Just can't find where I saw that. I know I've seen people running 9.5 in the front without issues with 245/35/18. I can't imagine it fitting easier than an 8.5. I could be mistaken though. I don't think I can justify dropping 2500+ on suspension just for looks. The kws look damn nice though. Hoping I can find a cheaper alternative because I imagine RCAs will also in the bill. Not really sure though

I have 18x8.5 e44. My tire sizing is 235/40/18. Check my wheel thread in my sig.

Do you have images? On the phone it's hard to navigate through previous threads of yours. Think 245/35/18 is too wide? It's technically the same height as stock so I'm just worried about rubbing.

I'm not sure if a 18x8.5" + 45 will clear the struits/inside fender on stock suspension, so I'd go for either of the below:

- Get coilovers with your Wheels
- Get a 18x8.5" with +35, those will clear the struits on stock suspension

You can run 245/35/18 in front with no rubbing (I have this setup) however you need the wheels to have a offset that matches, like a 18x8.5 +35

Ok. I'll throw one on the car when I get home tonight and see. I'll get some spacers if I need to until I can get the coils. Sure wish coils were cheaper.

The only reason I didn't get +38 is because I thought it would poke out too much. I absolutely can't stand wheels that poke out.

Yes, and anything 18 x 8.5 will fit with no issues on stock suspension. The photos below are stock suspension, 18x8.5 with Ventus V12 235/40/18 Tire sizing. Call a tire store with regards to the dimensions that you mentioned and they can give you a recommendation. There is also a huge "does this fit" tire thread here:

This is just plain wrong, as the offset of the wheel is important at that size. Take your car on the lift, and see how far the Rim is away from the stock struits, you will be surprised (I'm running 18x8.75 and I have seen it for myself how close they are to the struits)

Yes OP, it is always important to perform due diligence on any modifications you're making to your own car. You can either calculate your own offsets, or ask a local vendor to help you out, but in my experience so far, most wheels in the 18x8.5 sizing that are marked as BRZ fitted are generally so.
