Bumper cam (on tow hook). Thought it would be an awesome time to try out my external mic, had it all wired up, running from the front bumper to the trunk, by the exhaust but genius me did not turn on the mic so enjoy some Flume instead!

Inside cabin shot, mic wired up and turned on this time, but guess what, not plugged to the GoPro! One of these days I guess...
Oh man, that is an epic fail with the mic setup. I was really looking forward to hearing the improved audio and see how it sounded with it facing backwards on the car. Oh well, maybe you can try that setup on a Redwood Rd drive one day and see how it sounds.

Haha I love the narration in the video. "And I'm in disguise but no one knows it" LOL. Also, if you watch my video, near the end you can see the failed point by.

I was there as well last Sunday (dark blue BRZ, group B).

Anyone going to Buttonwillow this weekend with Speedventures? I'll be there on Sunday.

I was completely stock. I'm sure improved brake pads would have helped, but weren't necessary.

@Flow - for completely stock you crushed it buddy. The entire day it was messing with my head how close you were to me in pace... yet completely stock! After looking through some of my other vids I found one where you make some prolonged appearances! Enjoy...

Funny you should post this up. My father has been trying to get me to have an extinguisher in the car but there is no good place to mount. I think thats the answer. A bit expensive so I will likely try to make our own.

Looks like a fun day from all the videos that's been posted up from this past weekend @ T-Hill!

I just signed up for Laguna Seca on 1/25/14 with NCRC. Anybody going?

Just registered the track event on Jan. 18 at Thunderhill Raceway at HOD
Anyone interested or planning to go?
It will be my first track day too.
So if anyone has any advice,
I will be more than happy to know.
I'm starting to get excited already haha

Take it nice and easy since it's your first time out. Learn the lines and as you get comfortable, gradually increase your speed. I see a lot of first timers (I'm guilty of this as well) trying to set a fast lap w/o learning the lines and/or recognizing the rhythm of the track. I think having a cool head and with an emphasis on the "learning" aspect of the experience, you should get you thru your first track day safely and successfully.

While on the track, know your surroundings and keep an eye out on what's happening on turns up ahead if possible.

Have fun out there and be safe!

Agreed. 1. Open your mind. 2. Listen to your coach(es) 3. Focus on the fundamentals: The line, and smooth, distinct inputs.

(As soon as I started trying to go fast, I didn't.)

Forgot to mention that on each of your runs, you should set goals for yourself. It helped me put things in perspective my first time out as it gets a bit overwhelming out there at first.

First Run - Learn the lines
Second Run - Solidify those lines and brake points
Third Run - Solidify lines and brake points w/o mistakes
Fourth Run - Get comfortable and increase speed slightly

etc etc.
