Early adopters of new things generally get fucked over, so I can see a lot of people getting butt hurt that a new version of the frs will come out that makes their current "baby" look like the first iPhone. All fun aside the frs is eventually going to get a power boost and it will be fun to see how the first year models are viewed two years from now.

Since when are salesman or dealerships privy to product development emails before the revisions are formally annnounced?

I actually work at a Toyota dealership and our Southeast Rep told us Toyota is considering using a hybrid system in the future for the FRS. It is called the KERS hybrid system and is similar to the system used in their TS030 race car. No word if its for sure yet, just in development. Guess we'll have to wait and see...

Old Dogs, New Tricks...

Every time I go to my dealership they learn something new from me. Last week they learned that they needed a new crush washer for the oil drain plugs when I asked if they had replaced it during my first oil change. I just wish they hadn't learned about it on my car.

And you trust them to have the latest info??

Well take this at face value, a close friend of mine that is fairly high up in SET for warranty work has been right about the past 3 things about the frs months and almost a year in advance on one occassion about things pertaining to thd frs. He said they 99% doing the hybrid and appparently thd higher ups are going to get to drive one in 6-8months. The biggest hurdle is weight and cost but most of us knew this. He was also sayjng thr convertible frs is likely to go through also but will be scions swan song if it doesn't pick up scions brand out of the gutter. Its the one of the incentives toyota offered to dealerships that keep the scion brand along with another low to mid 30s sedan.

The only thing a dealership owner, manager, employee can tell you that you don't know is basically where you car is going to arrive from the port, and lie you about your service and options.

Now back to the rumor that has been around, again, it won't happen at mid-life of the first generation of this car. It's beyond retarded to think it will. Now, for next generation, sure go ahead and speculate everything that you want.

Sounds like someone's panties were wadded up by a dealership, lol

I work at a Dodge dealership, and we get a Chrysler rep that comes by every so often to let us know how development on the 2015 Baracuda and the rumored Rampage are going.

I will say that there are a ton of retards in the car business though, but we're not all like that.

A power increase has been confirmed for the 2015 FR-S, and a hybrid is officially one of the options considered. So you guys need to chill with bashing the OP.

Everybody always knows somebody (family member, friend, brother's girlfriend's dad's cousin's brother-in-law) who knows some exclusive information. however, as the past has shown us, most of their speculations are never true.

When it comes to upcoming news of any car, I don't listen to anything people at dealerships tell me. 90% of them don't know shit.

When it comes to this car, I'm willing to bet that any accurate "news" they give came from this site.

I was made aware of the 10 anniversary and its spec few months before it's announcement from the family friend that arranged/help me purchased my car back in March.
Not everything you read on the forum is false, employee (especially the higher ups) does get a sneak peak/wind of what is up coming, though be careful with what/who you trust thoug.

This is true. People get all sorts of sneak peeks that work at dealerships. Someone on here already got a look at the Monogram series FR-S and even took pictures of it. So yes, people working at dealerships can get information long before anyone else.

lol reminds me of when I went into a certain Subaru dealership in August trying to preorder a 2014... They said Subaru hasn't released that there will even be a 2014 model, trying to make me look stupid. Went to different reputable Subaru dealer and went ahead with the preorder.
