I don't know why your Scion dealer told you that. Where I am the person first on the list put a $500 deposit down when they started taking them and Scion confirmed the order. Right now from what I was told w/ the FR-S is that there are no options. You can only select color and transmission and like other Scion models anything their accessory list has on it can be installed after delivery, such as Radio or Nav upgrade, spoliers, wheels, TRD parts, etc...

Shit this is too soon for me! I need more time! lol
I just graduated and have a 4 month engineering internship that ends may 30th. I also have a full job offer for a job making much more money in south carolina that is supposed to start around June 1st. I have yet to accept my offer yet, let alone decide if I wanted to take it. I guess I can just put 500 down, place my order, but make sure it's refundable in case something falls through with this career path. |

I wouldn't worry even if you deposit now, it's not guarantee you'll get your car with the first batch. Unless I think the number the was agreed upon was about if you are the first 4 on your dealer's list. From what I can see alot of folks have already filled those 4 spots. Good luck on your job offer and make sure if you do get in line to make sure that the deposit is refundable, usually it is but nothing wrong in making sure.

Now if the deposit would put you in a position of financial hardship, I understand. But if you don't have 1.5 months worth of a car payment to spare, can you really afford the car to begin with? |

Still too soon, I'll definitely go grab some brochures though. Need to check out the ATS too.

Thanks for the heads up... I put down a refundable deposit for the BRZ last September, but I'll call the dealer to make sure they input it into the system on Monday.
Like others in this thread, I'm curious if we'll have to commit to a specific trim level. Whether I go for limited or premium depends on weight and price. |

just because the portal opens does not mean pricing will be released. The portal is meant for the dealer to order cars they want. Just because the dealer is going to fill his spot with what you want doesn't mean you will know the price. The dealer really doesn't care too much what the prices of any options are as they have a general idea of the cost and they will order whatever they think will sell.
I really hope pricing is released, but I'm not holding my breath. |

^^^ exactly... this is what my dealer told me... I'm going to be able to choose the model/trim/options (if any) I want, but never told me I would have a price...
