So why are you un-modding?

I will say now after selling this car this mod is a "commitment mod". I mean dont buy a girl you met at a cars and coffee a ring just because she can drift in circles and put on lipstick.......wait a few months at least..right?

Same thing( not really just an excuse for a bad analogy).....make sure you are keeping this car for a WHILE before you do this mod. I can tell you first hand I had ZERO interest in UN-doing this particular mod when I traded it at the dealer). The new owner will LOVE the much faster stock car thats for sure.

Yes we did some roll ons next to another stock BRZ with equal weight added to the other car to balance out my 250lbs and after 4 gears for the 4.55 car it was worth 4 car lengths.

Before anyone asked...NO we didnt have time to gopro it etc. The difference is significant.

My 185whp, 2630lb BRZ( before I UN-MODIFIED it) was faster than stock FOCUS ST's which will CRUSH a stock BRZ. So I know the power, weight and gearing played a major role in that.

So the 4.55 makes that much of a difference eh?

I think I'm leaning in that direction because I'd like some noticeable benefits but nothing hella extreme...and I like the idea that the 'Cusco' part is genuine Toyota too.

Did the Cusco bit come with all the shims and parts needed for the install/rebuild?

shims are factory also and sold at Toyota dealers in the USA.

Yes the % difference is 9% so some say its that much hp, and based on other cars I ran with 201 hp on E85 who had headers exhaust etc but stock FD...I can believe in that number. Drag race guys have done it for over 40 years ! We dont need a 168mph top speed if you're NA....so make it faster to 149, which I can say I saw a few times.

Myles

PS: I do think headers is what makes it PERFECT, because you gain the MID range AND the top end extends all the way to 7400 so you can make FULL use of the gearing. Short gears and shifting early are NOT a good combo.

I guess from 25 years of playing with cars I felt like I dont want to have some unexpected issue that cost me money while swapping rears from car to car. Especially after the dealer agreed to give me 2k more than it was worth.

I know what you mean, it's happened to me before.

I've been finding myself in 5th gear a lot on the highway just so I'm not lugging the engine. Anytime I go into 6th, I keep wishing for a shorter FD. One of these days...

Samesies. 6th is really just for putting around over 60, steady speed.
