Eibach sportlines or coilovers?

Just got check engine light, traction control, and variable speed control lights of death this morning......

Any of you had this? What dealer dealt with it and what did they do?

Apparently this is a major issue affecting lots of FRS/BRZ owners, as evidenced by this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...light&page=125

I had cel & sl as part of the rough idle tsb. I went to Roger Beasley in Georgetown and they're replacing my car after spending two monthes in the shop between 4 different instances.

I had the same issue when I was at around 1k mile range. I took it back to Cavender & they replaced the ECU with one that had the "new software" - their speak. It took about 10 days for them to get it in and get the car back to me. Haven't had the issue arise since, I'm at 19k miles now.

I'm lowered about the same (Stance c/o with Swift springs) on +30 18x8/x9's and didn't have any issues other than my rear tires slightly rubbing on hard cornering, but I have my coilovers set at a fairly soft setting. For reference, the rears rub when I drive over crap roads/bumps... I really need to roll the rear's flat, it would eliminate the rub.

On 335 I recall a couple of dips on bottoms of those long roller coaster type hills midway on the run that you'd need to slow down for. Stock suspension handles them OK but, lowered you might hear some front nose scraping sounds at the speed we drive! I guess being lowered you'd learn to recognize those types of things but, they do come up fast on the run. There are at least two cattle guards on 336 closer to the Leakey side that must have a dip next to them. Pretty gnarly at stock if you don't slow down substantially on those. I usually ease up on the throttle for most of those guards anyway...some are pretty smooth though.

FYI for newbys RE: cattle guards....we have seen cattle out that way on RR336 at times so use caution especially when getting closer to the Hwy. 41 end of the run. Lead car will slow down when there are dangers like cattle spotted and radio alerts come in handy as a cautionary heads up for those at the end of the pack to let them know what is up ahead.

Dang. That sucks! Is that from the tire impacting the liner?

Put me down as tentative if y'all choose the 25th, I should have my replacement BRZ by then as well as having it broken in.

The 18th I'll be working so hard laying on a Barbados beach sipping adult beverages, I probably won't be making the three sisters that day.

It's a cruise we do every couple of months or so out in the hill country. Lots of curves, twisties, roller coaster hills on the Ranch Roads. We've had up to 20 FR-S/BRZs attend at one time. We meet up at the Apple Store in Medina, Texas about 9AM and head out towards Leakey, Texas on Ranch Road 337 @ about 9:20 and then stop at the Stripes Convenience Store for about 15 minutes...last chance for gas and restrooms. From there we typically nail Ranch Road 336 pretty aggressive, head west on Hwy 41 to Ranch Road 335, Hwy 55 to Camp Wood then Ranch Road 337 back to Leakey where we all have lunch together at the Bent Rim Grill. The 3SIST3RS drive allows you to push you car to the limits on curves and acceleration.

January 18th and the 25th are our tentative dates for the next run. I think we'll shoot for doing it on the 18th and if the weather is bad (wet) we'll postpone to the 25th.

Newbys are welcome, last couple of times we've used FRS/GMRS radios to communicate on CH5. Faster drivers to the front / less aggressive drivers to the rear. We usually stop once or twice to do some roadside pictures.

Join us! You will have fun!! We'll likely start up a participant list by the 1st week in January.

@Turkish Adult beverages on a Barbados beach??? Sounds good to me! Enjoy. 50/50 odds for the 18th and/or 25th of January Sisters Run. Weather is going to make the determination. Hopefully we will have a nice day like today!!! Hey, if the 25th doesn't work out & we still need to make a special 3SIST3RS run to initiate your new BRZ ... we can do it.

Went to C & C this morning took a few pics. About 9 - 86 cars were there by my best count. 6 were together and a few others were here and there.

Tomorrow is Spokes Auto x at San Antonio Speedway near Marion. Anybody going? I will try to make it out about noontime to watch.

@TEWwild How was Harris Hill time trials today? Still running your stock tires?

Looks like a small turnout compared to the coffee and cars over at the old spot. Wish i could have made it out, been busy with school like none other.. Hope to be able to do the run in January when that rolls around.

It was an awesome day, a bit chilly and windy but that just made the track marshal go inside and let us run as we see fit. I went through 2 tanks of gas and chewed up my new BFG Rivals pretty good. We ran CCW today, my first time in that direction, spun a couple of times early on when it was still damp but hey, you can't drive it at the limit if you don't know where it is. My best lap was 1:33.8 for the day compared to my 1:37.6 CW on my stock tires and they say CW is typically faster, tires definitely make a difference. Now that I have the BFG's, I need to work on the suspension setup a bit as evidenced by the tire wear from today. I'll probably get a video and a couple of pic's up tomorrow sometime.
I should be good for either date in Jan for the Sisters, lookin' forward to it.

Smaller crowd but, cold/windy/semi-damp weather prolly played a factor. I didn't bother to wash my car for this one. Couple of dipwads tore out w/loud exhaust at the end (SAPD was not there this time). So, if that keeps up; might not be at that location much longer. See ya at the 3SISTERS, Tuck!

Yeah. Looking forward to the next run. Hope weather will be like today was. Here is another shot of your car less rotated. Wanted to capture some of the lowered look! (Glad you got a good deal on those parts, Cole.)

@anthonyravenfrs The more the merrier! Hey, we need to get another nite time flash mob photo shoot meet organized for the Quarry. Last year we had close to 20 86s show up. FUN. It could be an annual event!!!! I bet some of the Austin folks will come down and join us if we did this again. Maybe in January or February???

@Ricepuddin !!! Are you still on here??? We need you...

Sounds like you had fun! Yeah, as good as the stock suspension is...there is still room for more performance tweaks especially when the intent is to push it to the limits!

Went by and watched the Spokes autox folks at S.A. Raceway today. Here's some pics of the 86s I saw on the track:
