Which, depending on manufacturer, have been know to cost more than that even. I've seen $1500 dollar Nav packages, $900 HIDs, etc. I think 2k is a pretty fair price difference all things considered.

I still expect
FRS Price = $X.xx
BRZ Premium = $X.xx + 2k
BRZ LTD = $X.xx + 4k

Right. Well I will be paying the dealer the full "Pure Price", but Toyota will reimburse me back to true dealer cost (invoice minus holdback). Tough to argue with that.

Unfortunately, my employment with Toyota precluded me from being included in the First 86 program. Oh well, I'll live to wait an additional 2 weeks for my car.

The up side to Pure Pricing is that no one gets screwed and there are never any huge rebates and such that will kill the residual value. That, and their mark-up over invoice is not much. $1000 on a $20k+ car is not a whole lot.

Can't stand the hairlip bumper on the BRZ and the potential tax for a blue oval with with some stars in it.

I agree I like the idea of Scion Pure Pricing, because you can wait until the last second and as long as they have the car and can order one, you know what you are paying. Unlike most of these Subaru dealers I called a month ago who wanted $36k for a BRZ Limited, and all I asked was, "What do you want over invoice?" And at $36k that could be anywhere from $6-8k over BRZ invoice, nevermind the price of a FR-S.

For $36k I will go buy a 370Z.

The line gets drawn at money, I want the car because I have fun driving it and I like the styling. If there is $4k difference in FR-S and BRZ Limited I will go with the FR-S. If the gap is considerably smaller, I would pay closer attention to the features differences.

The FR-S is designed to be a tuner, so Im guessing it wont be terribly complicated to put HIDs on it, or get a remote start after market $400, ect.

FYI - HID's would only be $35 bucks if you didn't have to spend extra for the projector style headlamps.

Otherwise you'd be paying more to do the install properly. You can just put an HID into a non-projector lense but its not the proper way to run HID's. The true way is having proper projector lenses.

Not sure if the Scion has those or not. if it does have them included for standard, then the $35 HID upgrade should be one of the first mods done by the FR-S owners.

Your right, the FR-S has the projector Halogen headlights! A HID conversion should be easy but it still don't look as clean as the stock HIDS. Plus the stock Hids are probably the bi-xenon auto leveling kind....

It won't be $2000 for the stock HIDs, more like $600 a headlight at most. That's what the 370Z HID lights cost from the dealer parts department.

Sigh, why am I not surprised to see people who think $35 HIDs are a good idea on here? Halogen projectors /= HID projectors.
