I'm looking to upgrade my suspension for STX AutoX competition and RCE's support of this forum has me sold on getting one of their products. The issue I have is...which products do I buy?

I've been autocrossing for over 2 years and feel that I'm a competent driver, but my experience has only been on stock class cars so I've never driven a car with coilovers or adjustable dampers/lowering springs.

The Tarmac IIs sound awesome, but they're above my budget and I'm not even sure if my skills are to the point where I could take advantage of their performance potential. Not to mention, I'm worried that the adjustability would have me overthinking things and messing with them too much.

This leaves me with the Tarmac 0's and the Koni/RCE Tarmac Spring combo. The cost of these setups is similar (taking into account the need to modify front strut housings for Koni's), so what are some things I should consider when trying to decide between these two options? I'm only concerned about AutoX performance and am not worried about daily driving/street manners if that helps at all.

The Tarmac 0 will get you more spring rate vs. Koni + RCE springs, so that will work better for you when autocrossing. It's a simple, easy, fast set-up that you don't have to fiddle with much. We've got our custom 350/350 set-ups...sounds like the way to go for your needs. Give us a call and we give you more details.

Just a little plug for these guys, Don't hesitate to PM or call them. They were very quick to answer all my PM's and helped me out with all the questions I had. Plus they were super fast on processing my order for Tarmac 2's and got it shipped out the same day! Haven't gotten them yet, but I'm sure when I get them in and I need advice on initial settings a quick phone call will get me the info I need.

Well, I took yours and Andy's advice and called up! I literally just got off the phone with Myles and he was very helpful and may have talked me into the Tarmac 2's as well. If you add the 350 lbs springs to the Tarmac 0's, you're really not too far off of the Tarmac 2's in price, so I may just save up some extra pennies and go that route instead. The setup might be a little over my head at first, but I should be able to grow into it eventually.

That is exactly what I thought as well. I was initially going for the KW V3's based on the good things I've read about them but Myles talked me into the T2's since they were essentially the same price and are a better product. I don't "need" them but I feel like if I'm going to do something, I might as well do it right. The day after I ordered the T2's I went ahead and got the raceseng caster/camber plates for ultimate awesomeness. Looks like the few track days I'll be doing next year should be full of grins.

We can also help you with set-up on the T2's, so don't let the 2 way adjustablity intimidate you! We've got tons of track time with them in a variety of conditions. Plus you can call us on weekends and after hours if you need help.

Just curious but what is the range of ride height adjustability with the T2's? I know in the PM's we talked about the raceseng rear top hats were not necessary because the T2's had a ton of travel but since I'm going to have everything off I'd rather just do it now if I'm going to want it in the future.

If I push the shock upper mount up 2" with the raceseng rear mounts with a 1" lower on the vehicle am I going to run into issues with droop travel on the T2's?

I've been playing with the T2's for the past few days, and have decided they're too good looking to be hidden underneath the car, so I'm ordering a second set from Myles to put in my living room.
