Don't ask for bikini photos here. You'll just get eye searing pictures of hairy dudes with moobs in bikinis.

A 1ZZ upgrade would entail a new shortblock (there are probably lots of old Corollas in the junkyard where this can come from), milled, fitted with the old head + upgraded valve springs and camshaft and a C60. Labor would run about the same, but I would be spending only 1700 on a brand new shortblock + 200 in valve springs + 600 on a Greddy emanage ultimate rather than 4k on a 2ZZ for an engine that should last until the body falls apart due to rust. I imagine the 1700 for the shortblock can be cut down significantly by buying a slightly used one. All in all, still a 5-6k affair, only saves 1000 bucks in some cases. So then I guess the question is, why not just get rid of the car for 5k and buy a clean 2zz swapped one for 10k and end up with a much faster car? Yea, I think that makes a ton more sense LOL. Okay well, if I want to put in different cams afterward then I'll have to pay up. |
