They will sell this car for $26k if they can feel like they can get our money for it. They're businessmen, not our friends. |

I understand this. But Subaru has already told certain people their prices will start at 24k-24.5k for the Premium. So there is no way in hell the FRS will be at the same price or more unless it has more features. Nav typically costs 1k-2k and HID's typically run $500-600 as a option.

As for gas mileage, it should be close to a Corolla rolling on 4-speed autos without direct-injections, but not as high as the new Elentra. Anywhere close to 30 on combined is great. :happy0180: No point, talking about price for a car that isn't out yet. It's all about biting the bullet or not. I've read that only mechanical difference between FRS and BRZ are springs. But interior material, vents, and center console cup holders seems different, too. Not just seat cover materials and HVAC. For suspension on the two cars, I'm not sure what shocks and springs they're rolling on. On Miata, stiff shocks (Bilstein) and soft Mazda springs comes as sport package. (similar idea to FRS). Upgrading to twice as stiffer springs with Bilsteins, stiff front sway and soft rear sway is one popular mod for tracks. Last edited by Soravia; 02-18-2012 at 01:07 PM. |

I would predict a $22,999 starting price for the FR-S. It's the same car as the BRZ Premium, without the HIDs and NAV.
It's partially dependant on gearing, but I would expect about 30mpg combined real world, at least for me. I get 27mpg combined from my 2010 GTI, and it's a bit heavier with a higher CoD and larger frontal area. That said, my normal daily driving habits get me higher city MPG than highway, so your results may vary. |

Really? Quote from the article... "Both cars demonstrate remarkable body control and change course so quickly that you’d think they could slalom the lane-marker lines on an interstate at 85 mph. They probably couldn’t: The charitable among us would describe the Michelin Primacy HPs’ grip as underwhelming. Toyota chief engineer Tetsuya Tada tells us, “They are Prius tires,” and he’s not joking—they’re identical to those in the Toyota hybrid’s top trim level (outside the U.S.), right down to the compound and construction. Mark that down as Toyota’s second big donation to the project." So while im not sure the difference between the US Spec Prius tires that he drove on, and the Euro spec ones, they are indeed Prius tires. |
