Installed my oem armrest too. Looks like quite a few of us cashed in on the sale. Mine was sent loose in a USPS mailing box without the original packaging, but appears to have made the trip unscathed. I would not put this in the easy category to install. Take your time and make sure you have it lined up properly and the holes are in the exact location. Follow the instructions to a point, but I drilled the holes for the rubber anchors one at a time to ensure they were all correct. (I temporarily installed the arm rest for each hole I drilled and checked the next hole alignment)

I was looking at my steering wheel recently and noticed that the STI logo is the same size as the Subaru logo. I made a request to a friend and was told $10 each for a minimum of 10 orders, otherwise $30 for just the one. I'm not cheap, I'd pay the $30, but this is an opportunity that I wanted to share with others since I have plenty of other Secret Squirrel projects going on anyways. I will see if the sticker will be thick enough to not make the embossed Subaru logo too obvious when this sticker is overlaid.

This. 2nd winter with the BRZ and been driving with nannies off unless I'm on the icy highways. Much easier to start from a stop and from an incline with nannies off.

Due to how traction control works, it's often best to turn it off/reduce it when you're getting going from a stop. And then it should definitely be turned back on!

That's how I started using it last year, trust me. This year, though, for city driving, I'm loving having it off. I think it depends on the driver, too. I look a "mile" ahead, zipper-pattern with traffic, expect a collision from every side street, see myself as a motorcycle since my car is small, and sit with my back straight up for best view of the road. I've always tried applying "racer technique" to my daily driving since I don't trust most people on the road. This includes knowing when to hit the brakes and switch lanes when things feel like they're going to get hairy. I analyze each vehicle around me, anticipating the likelihood of them doing something uncontrolled (I don't trust large vans or Escalades). I don't hangout in the right lane unless I'm going that slow or turning immediately right. I'm almost nice about letting people through to help prevent accidents from someone forcing their way through. I've learned a lot in my time. hahaha

You're right, though, generally I wouldn't recommend it due to liability. I would feel TERRIBLE if I was irresponsible and caused a bad accident because of having everything off where it could have been prevented by keeping everything on. Since it's been raining on top of this ice and cooling down I have kept it on more often. With dry snow I keep it off, though.
