I know what you are talking about though; on a S13/14 aftermarket coilovers would give worse clearance vs stock spring/shock. I can assure you that on FRS/BRZ, this is not the case and where the spring perch on the front strut sits is virtually identical to where the aftermarket spring sits, assuming "normal" spring length and shock travel on most off-the-shelf coilover kits. -alex |

A better example:
This is a stock replacement S13 front shock. If one were running a stock diameter tire (any size), the tire would end up sitting slightly below the spring perch. I've seen someone run a 17x9 +30 R33 GT-R wheel with spring/shock only on a S14 with no fitment issues. However, look at the same assembly for aftermarket coilovers for S13/14: The spring is physically smaller, but it is lower and given the same size wheel, you'd have less clearance on the inside. But this is not an issue with our cars, since the factory spring perch location is same as aftermarket coilovers. -alex |

Suspension clearance shouldn't be an issue as I will have ST coilovers.
18x9.5 +45 w/ 255/35R18 tires seems to be the popular choice in this poll. I've been getting mixed opinions saying 255 will or won't rub the inner fender liner but if I choose a narrower tire (Hankook V12) I should be ok. If clear, would anyone think pushing it to 265 would clear with no fender modifications? @DAMotorsports fit 275 square without rubbing nor fender mods but offset was around 42 or 43 IIRC. Just asking for opinions on clearance, not asking whether it's suitable from a functional aspect (I know when 265 is overkill).

@desertfrs was running 265/35/28 v12 on his car before going to 275's. He was not rubbing and I believe he was running 18/9.5/+40 but I’ll let him chime in. We chose the widest tire we could due to the overall plan for the car. We started with a +48 and added 6mm spacers putting us around a +42. We daily drive the car with 1.5 camber and 0 toe. Our ride height is 26.5 inches from the ground to the center of the fender. |

I have 245/35/18s on TC105Ns 18x9.5 +35 offset. I have Racecomp Yellows that lower the car 0.8", I plan on installing my Koni Yellows soon but I am guessing those will not have an effect on the ride height. Any ideas? |

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to keep an eye on it to make sure it only happens when I go full lock (I only go full lock when I pull out of my drive way, so at low speeds) I actually feel the wheels shudder when it happen, so it is easily avoidable in the future.

It is rubbing on the inside, the markings are on the springs and spring perch. |

I was confused, I thought you meant you are rubbing the frame rails on the inside. I am really surprised you are still rubbing the spring perches. My advice is now to ditch those Yellows and Konis and get some Tarmac Zeros or another coilover with a smaller spring diameter.
