I work for a Toyota and Lexus dealership, and although we suggest servicing your vehicle in our service department, we acknowledge that some people chose to do their oil changes on their own. As long as it's done properly, this does not void any type of warranties, but we suggest people keep receipts just in case. Also, if the engine fails and you did your own oil changes, there might be some extra hoops to jump through to get it covered under warranty.
I think you'll find a condition of the warranty is proper servicing. I don't think that includes servicing by anyone who is not a licensed mechanic or being directly supervised by one.

I haven't read Subaru's warranty but I have seen such conditions in warranties I have read.

But if you think otherwise go ahead and chance it.

I also had conflicting information about this so I went straight to the source. I called Subaru Canada and asked them if I do my own oil changes, would it void the engine warranty. They said as long as you have receipts and document it, it won't. I also called Subaru of Brampton and they said the same thing. Subaru of Maple, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to it.

Suberman, I think you should avoid stating opinions as if they were facts.

Obviously a condition of a warranty is proper maintenance, but Subaru is no more likely to warranty something that was maintained by a licensed 3rd party mechanic than they are an owner doing his own maintenance. To any company, a 3rd party is a 3rd party. If something wasn't maintained properly BY ANY 3rd party, who would expect the manufacturer to warranty it??

If your own opinion is that you aren't comfortable servicing your own car for purposes of maintaining warranty, then just say so. But don't state that Subaru does not warranty cars in Canada if they're maintained by their owners, because that is 100% false.

Quote from the warranty supplement: "Without invalidating the warranty, the owner may elect to have maintenance repairs performed by any automotive repair establishment or individual, and may elect to use parts other than genuine Subaru replacement parts for such maintenance. However, the cost of such service, or parts, and any subsequent failures related to the use of those parts will not be covered under Subarus warranties"
