I've been married for 24 years and I would never think of spending in excess of $500 without running it by the wife. There is no such thing as "your" money if you're married.

May be in your marriage but as many a marriage counselor and rich divorce lawyer have stated...."The fastest way to a divorce is separate checking accounts".

What did you think was going to happen when you said you are hiding 20 bucks a week from your wife to try and boost you car with slightly unrealistic end goals?

So true, along with high temp brake fluid.

On my first track day at Portland Int'l. Raceway with two long straights per lap, I lost the OEM brakes during the first stint with sticky tires. I adjusted braking points, but still had to retire during the fourth stint and limp home. Carbotechs F/R and ATE Super Blue transformed the car.

Doing the math, the car might generate 1g accelerating downhill at sea level. Braking with my setup might generate 3g in a shorter distance more reliably with less wear and expense than it would take to get that kind acceleration (doubtful at best). No question that brakes and seat time learning car control is the best bang for the buck.

I want get some sintered pads, brake ducts, fluid, and slotted rotors. I think that'll do me just fine.

I've lost the brakes during some agressive mountain road driving. Because when it's dark out, and you can see the headlights of oncoming cars, it's hard to resist using ALL of the road. :derp:

why go to a track with this car without upgrading pads and fluid? That's not the cars fault, that's the owners.

Faith in Tada-san. I think stock pads, fluids and tires would've held up but once extra grip is applied design limits are exceeded pretty quickly. Just a theory, I haven't read any reviews where testers had brake issues on OEM kit.

Exactly !!!!. It is more of a Bragging Right than practical.

Why do you want a powerful car ? so u can drift as in Tokyo Drift ? or Race in the Track ?

Let me break it down

1/ Tokyo Drift is a movie, and it is impossible to be in real life. Even if you are so willing to sacrifice a whole lot of things, try and pull it....does it earn you anything in doing so ? Bragging Right...yeah

2/ Race in the track. Yet, it is fun, but what is the point ? beat your own record ? Race for money ? Event ?

Most of the people who do Track daily, understand what they want from the car they are in, and their financial position. No one will post in a forum for it.

Majority of people who want Modded powerful car = Bragging right, and then end up useless on the street, bring a lot of Complication into the car life....and lose a lot of money.

Funny ass thread. OP even changed his mind I don't know why it's that big of a deal though. Yeah dude wants more power. Yeah he asked the wrong way, and yeah he probably didn't need to add his marriage life into a car thread (some of us come here to escape our women). I honistly think this thread should have been closed after Ichi(sp?) first post.

A turbo is going to kill the life of the enging especially with the 13.1CR. OP might not have known that. OP might not have known about meth injection too. Get the engine running cold enough, proper tune/supporting mods, maybe even E85 he could run a turbo on the car with minimal problems. It'll honestly be be easier if he started from scratch with the engine. Lower CR, stronger internals (possibly forge), meth if he wants to go crazy, and BAM! OK lifespan out of a turbo car. Kiss warranty good-bye but you get what you want.

Rule of thumb. The more you mod a car, the more your going to have to mod it.
