Winjet Headlights - Installed, Compared, and done up the FT-86 SpeedFactory Way!

Winjet JDM look-a-like headlights for the Scion FRS have been hot since SEMA, but not a lot to talk about until we got our hands on them here at the shop. So in classic SpeedFactory fashion we got sets in and did our best to show you how they work, and can now answer any question you got on them.

They come with a halogen bulb already installed and ready for you to bolt in and go. They will fit a HID kit like one from Diode Dynamics which we test fit with the Winjet Headlights here in the shop.

Lets start off with some photos. We choose to go with the black housing for this. We got Chrome ones in too but only so many hours in a day.

Video is uploading now.... will add it later tonight once the upload completes. Hit our youtube page to see it as soon as the upload finishes. ( http://www.youtube.com/channel/UChDYhVRjSigVidaiCXsgzNQ )

Here is a comparison of the DRL function.

Video correction: You DO NOT lose your high-beam function with these headlights!!!

I'm not going to be buying a set since I have a BRZ but would you mind posting a pic of the cutoff line at night? That's my biggest concern for aftermarket headlamps.

I would totally jump on these if I did not have a BRZ!

I am kind of not digging the loss of the high beams, and the fact that the leds don't stay on with the headlights.

Well you could just flick on the high beams with the stalk and that would just turn on the LED strip along with the headlights. You're not going to get both LED's AND high beams in any headlights unless you do a bi-xenon retrofit.

These are "bixenon" style projectors.. Like all single projectors that are dot legal, they have a flap that moves out of the way. And the led in these kits are wired up with the high beam actuator, so actually, yes they do come on when the high beam is activated

In the pictures, the red and black wires are for the DRL led, the brown wires are for the high beam actuator , the white and black for the main bulb

Probably not great as it sounds like it's a halogen projector, not HID. These are FR-S headlamps with LEDs.
