Saw a red 2013 GC driving around my work in Huntington Beach yesterday. Doesn't look too bad. Definitely looks better in person. But I'm not a big fan of Hyundai's move to curvy designs. I'm more of an angle guy. Anyways, yes the front end is questionable, but when I was watching it drive up, I got the feeling that it would grow on me... or at least lessen the feeling of aversion over some time. What I really dislike are the taillights. To me, they look like an aftermarket company's attempt at making sport/luxury rear lamps.

the point is that there have been destination charges forever. its not like the new ones are much more expensive because all of a sudden there are these charges. when comparing new to old. either count the fees for both or neither. using destination charges to determing if a car is expensive is stupid since every new car ive ever seen has had them

370Z 3.7L V6 332hp with sport package is about 34.5K. (200lb less) Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6 348hp with sport package is (Add your number)? If you don't know, 2 seater coupe is always expensive because of impracticality. And we're comparing Z with Mustang now? What about Comparing Nismo Z to BOSS302? They price very close to each other.

Ok, I think I should stop replying to this thread anymore. Hope it's more about FR-S and GC though.

The thing that you never understood is that the GC is more closer to a Z than it is to a FR-S and that's why it was relevant enough for me to mention it in this thread. Let me break it down for you. Remember Nissan made Z's with 2+2 seating in the past and the Z is made on a sedan/coupe platform
Some people want a Z but want more room for god knows what so the 3.8 R spec/ 3.8 Track exist at a much cheaper price than a Sport or Loaded Z Some people want a RWD, Sports coupe EVO and the 2.0t Rspec exist at a much cheaper price while still being able to haul people albeit not that comfortable. The scenarios I put out is very much what people think about regardless if you like it or not. Last edited by SUB-FT86; 02-18-2012 at 07:46 PM. |

$25000 for a RWD 274 hp coupe is not overpriced.
MCS JCW is overpriced. Hyundai cars are not overpriced. They are value priced. If FRS MSRP is above $24000 that's overpriced.

![]() I notice something about Hyundai. If there car seems like it costs more than a competitor it's because they are offering more. I remember when Hyundai came out with the 3.8 base model for $25,000 a lot of people felt it was overpriced vs a Mustang V6. But when you actually did some investigating you find out why. IRS suspension vs LRA Cloth seats vs Leather seats Driveshaft that can't go past 115 mph vs a driveshaft that can go to 160+ mph Automatic CC vs Manual CC Fog lights vs None 5y/60k Warranty vs 10y/100k Warranty It isn't like will Hyundai will offer less for more. That is the one reason I respect there business practices but I am still not impressed with the sporting nature of most other Hyundai's. |

Back to the topic, sort of... I noticed this morning that SUB-FT86 has composed 164 of the 1044 posts in this thread (~1 in 6), and 46 of the ~200 posts in the last 10 days (~1 in 4). Therefore, I propose renaming it in his honor: "FR-S/BRZ vs. Genesis Coupe, a narrative by SUB-FT86" |
