I hope the Mustang can look and feel smaller even if it loses 200 lbs. It doesn't have to lose a lot of weight on paper but it needs to at least feel more agile than its weight.

If the base V6 weighs 3200-3240 lbs with 300hp/290 tq then I would prefer the base. It would be the lightest GT Sports car under 30k.

How is the GT86 not a GT car?

People are comparing the dry weight of the base Stingray with the curb weight of the Z51 Stingray, which is heavier as a result of it's optional equipment.

I would agree with you but most think of it as a pure sports car.

I don't know if the subtle changes made that big of a difference, or if it actually grew on me. It looks a lot smaller. Looking forward to driving one!

It's not. They missed every leaked promise or they were just completely wrong (except the IRS). It's the same size pretty much and will actually be possibly close to 100 pounds heavier than the current Mustang. So it went from -400lbs to -200lbs to +100lbs.

It's nice looking outside but the inside is still retro grade and thee exterior has hints of retro still lurking. It still looks large and I doubt it will be more agile. I also doubt it will be lighter except for the ecoboost 2.3T model.

Retro looks is the main points of the mustang. I just hate how they gave it Taurus face lift, and Taurus quarter panels.

They failed trying to make an Angry, Agressive face, yet still old school.

Angry, agressive is the design language of the Japanese...gun dam stuff. So in that department....FRS look better.

If I want a mustang ...the current gen look ways better

Did they publish specs to confirm the weight? Ever since getting a PS4, I have not had time to research cars

I find myself year after year test driving mustangs They're fast, fun to drive, but if you're a fan of going around corners it just hasn't got anything for me yet. Hoping this new one is the one autox people are looking for.

It's a good looking car. I can't find anything about this +100lb comment. If you have a link to this I'd be grateful. The 2.3 if it does come in lighter than the prior does seem interesting. If it gets 34 mpg with 300+hp I'd be pretty sold.

The only 4cyl turbo charged that makes 300+ HP is the MB. I doubt Ford Mustang can do that much

Lol.. I tried one.. Is more refined than the C6. It's faster too.. But it doesn't feel that way until u look at the speedo.. Sure footed and power everywhere.. But also feels a bit hefty.. Seats nicer but not as comfy as my c6 was.. Maybe just not enough time on my part to get it right.. Nicer materials inside too.. Lacking visceral feel.. Vette lovers won't be disappointed.. Less overhangs tidier packaging..
Same salesman sold me my last vette.. Couldn't believe I walked away from this one and drove off in the FRS.. He still calls me.. For now I'm still enjoying my slower and raw feeling FRS.. This too will change.. As history has proven... Sigh..
