(help)installing interior lighting

Tried searching but didnt really come up with anything. For anybody that has installed led strips in the interior of the car, from what source did you get power? I was trying to avoid running wires all the way into the engine so is there an easier option that someone has tried? Open to any suggestions. thanks

I have an LED strip running through both footwells and into the engine bay. The footwells and the firewall light up, basically. I'm taking power from the 12v outlet in the glovebox, down to a little transformer that then gives me power for the LEDs. I then ran the strip behind the dash to the drivers side, and back to the passenger side (Giving me two LED strips in both footwells), and then through the rubber grommet in the passenger footwell to the engine bay.

I'd get you pictures, but it's 23 F outside and fuck that.

I have mine ran to the dome light source with a relay and switch, so that when I open the doors, all the interior led strips and underbodies come on qhile the doors are open and shut off 7 seconds after it is shut. Plus I have the switch that I can turn them on independently.
