Hence why I think they should be "delete" options. However, if it is going to be worth a damn, it will be reduced in weight somewhat and and have less content to actually make it cheaper. So I'd say (and hope) you might be shit outta luck on the rear seats.

In all fairness everybody has a different idea of what it should be, but you are asking for an NA FT-86, with bigger brakes and better suspension, for cheaper than the base model.

All models should have LSD by the way.

So suck it up and deal with the lack of amenities. You can't get something for nothing.

one fear i have is that instead of being "delete" options, they will be "options" that i would have to pay extra for. let's say the base model comes with a sunroof, that's one option i don't need. i also don't need a 6 disc changer or automatic climate control. i don't need leather trim (except maybe on the steering wheel). for the car to be a track model, it doesn't necessarily need to be a stripper model. take the current STI Special Edition for example; better suspension, reduced (but not eliminated) creature comforts, cheaper price. http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/impre...ise/index.html

and i completely agree: all models should get LSD.

Fair enough. I have quite the aversion to stupid comments and an acid tongue to go along with it. My bad.

My post was taken totally out of context, because it had nothing to do with being hard core. Fed up of all the e-thugs out there.

Fair points. I think maybe my idea of a track model is a cheaper version that you'd use as a base for competition. What you are asking for in my eyes is more like a "special edition" more than a track model. No?

Anyway, I hope that there aren't a load of options to drive the price up. A sunroof should always be an "extra" option, as should a better audio system.

I think the delete options would only really come on a car as I described, because unless they are going to do all that at the dealer, then it'd be logistically more difficult for Toyota to provide those types of options no?

It should come with 6-10 trim levels, since people have been asking for different standard features from the others.

"Weekend warrior" comes to mind

I'll be looking forward to all these delete options, as it'll be fun to see how much are actual necesities to daily driving . . .

I'll definitely pass on carpet and rear seat delete, and I'm pretty sure they're not going to be options.

Anyone notice that the poll totals are 122.22%... 33.33, 55.56, 33.33.

I think any regular creature comfort and extra should have an option to remove it from the vehicle, so you could get no moonroof, no A/C, no what ever, and still keep the radio if you wanted.

I'd particularly enjoy a No Power Steering option... wonder if that'd be probable.

i think that's exactly the root of our differences. it'll be interesting to see how many and which delete options toyota offers.

so we'll have Track, SE, Base, SR5, Limited, and TRD. something like that, anyway.

SR5 is more of their truck line up, not car... SE, CE, XR, GT and XRS / GTS trims are more normal for car line ups.
