Alright both seats are in the same state SRS Sensor's need to be bypassed. Beyond that tomorrow with some help I can add the Weight Sensor and then work on a rear mount and they are 100% done.

Time to do some reading now on bypassing that sensor and value.

The work for the driver seat has been done already, I know there's a thread somewhere that has the resistor size needed to bypass the airbag. Passenger side I don't know about.

So, we had a small impromptu (sp?) SWIC meet last night where the JDMFresh meet is usually held at, and Travis Cooke let me take his E85-tuned FR-S for a bit of a spin. It's otherwise stock except for E-85 and some tuning to improve the stock tune.

WOW. It's no kick in the pants like FI, but it definitely was a lot more lively than bone stock tune on 91 piss gas.

Afterwards me, travis, and one or two others cruised out to Tempe for some cheese steaks off of Rural & Broadway (or was it Rural & University, I forget... it was after midnight). So, I got more mile time on the new KB Short Shifter. This is WITHOUT any other KB bushings or aftermarket bushings whatsoever on it, just the SS. It felt nice and tight. I can imagine that adding the rear bushing and the transmission mount bushing will only improve shifting feel. It already feels as solid and firm as my STI's short shifter. It's not as light as the stock shifter, but you definitely feel the gate better and the effort isn't hard, it's just more firm.

I have a stainless steel WC Lathe Werks 526g shift knob on the way (one of these: Subaru BRZ Stainless Steel Piston with statin bead blasted finish, black leather wrap with red stitching, and shift pattern engraving), too .

I really liked the 500g weight of my flossy knob on the STI, so this is definitely going to be awesome. I went with the wc lathewerks piston over flossy b/c I think the piston will feel better in my hand with the shifter up so much higher relative to the driver in the brz that i'm more grabbing the shifter from the side than from the top.

I agree I am really enjoying my e85 tune.

Unless I get ecutek tuned later (and then go ahead and get the flex fuel mod done) when I go FI, I'm not going to go to E85. I'll stay on pump gas.

Thing is, that little drive also showed me that there's some nice gains to be had from tuning on the stock-exhaust equipped cars, too. I think that's mainly b/c the stock tune on these cars is crap for our pump gas. These cars come to the US meant to be run on 93 octane, and 91 is only possible as an 'acceptable' fuel, with the intention being "Run 91 if you have to until you can get to your normal 93 octane station." Travis said that as an experiment when he was in a 92 octane area, he reflashed his tune to stock and filled up with 92 and the difference between our 91 piss gas on stock tune and the 92 octane on stock tune was quite noticeable.

So, I may just get "stage 1" (stock) tuned with a NP exhaust (overpipe/downpipe replacement + axleback) just b/c the car is going to be nicer to drive even on pump gas with that tune on our crappy gas.

I've also been told that for FI, we really do need to upgrade the injectors. Apparently the stock port injectors are only 250cc! (yikes!)
