With the "quality" exhausts being as much as they are I think I am better off sticking to stock. 400+ for axleback? 600-1000+ for catback? Damn just cant bring myself to pay that much for just sound and minimal gains.

I say go for it, most people who replied saying it is shit prob have never bought a ebay exhaust and are just going off word of mouth. Back in the day ebay exhaust use to be shit but over the years they have been getting better. I said this once on a thread here and ill say it again. I bought a turbo back exhaust for my evo 8 through ebay for like $400 and it fit perfect, and sounded nice. I dont understand why people spend close to 1k just for a dam pipe when you go to summit racing and purchase a 4'x3" SS pipe and go to a exhaust shop and just have them custom make one for like $200.

It is nice to see a different opinion on the whole "cheap" exhaust debate. Thanks and I am still considering.

All I'm saying is you should hear the exhaust before you buy it. I wouldn't want my car sounding like a 95 Honda civic

Most cold air intakes say that too, just because it's not carb exempt I think

The only thing that worries me about the exhaust is the small diameter. My J2(font pipe) is smaller than the advertised exhaust.

You buy an exhaust based on reputation, build quality, sound (everyone's opinion is different), and above all customer service. Some people drop 4k on a titanium exhaust, some people poke a hole in their muffler to make it louder. Everyone has their own budget. At the end of the day, it's your car.

Paying a lot of money for an exhaust does not mean that you will be happy with the results. Just read some of the threads on here about people complaining about rasp and/or drone on their expensive set-ups. Also paying a lot a money for an exhaust also does not mean you will get a trouble free product or great customer service. There are horror stories about that on here and every other car forum as well.

However, I agree that, if possible, you should hear it on someone else's car before making a purchase. Also, the diameters of the pipes looks pretty small. You will probably get more noise but I would not expect any increase in performance. Of course, many of the expensive catbacks only add additional noise too.

If I was you, I would browse the For Sale sections on this forum and pick up a slightly used system from someone that is changing exhaust again or going back to stock to sell the car. We picked up a slightly used TRD catback for my son's FR-S for $300. Those normally sell for $1100. I paid $500 for the TRD exhaust on my Spyder and those go for $1500.
