Think if you had gone to a MPSS 255/35/18 instead you'd need to mess as much with extra rolling and pulling? Just curious cause I know a MPSS in 265 would be like many others 275s due to nature of the MPSS just being a larger fitting tire??

Your car would look even better with some dark black window tint!

@Jive Turkey @King Tut @PRORICAN how far did you grind on your tabs?

The "screw" on my tab is halfway grinded down. I just want to make sure my rear bumper isn't going anywhere. lol.
Let me put it this way, I can't use that screw any longer, haha. I actually drilled a hole further out on the bumper and used a zip tie to secure the bumper to the inner structure. I think I managed to wear through one or both of those zip ties as well though, haha. The bumper isn't going anywhere without that screw though.

I wanted to do it to see if it could be done, and it can with some rubbing. I wanted the most tire I could fit, and I think a 265 MPSS is right at that limit.

Perhaps. Hindsight is 20/20. Would I have gone with a smaller tire if I could do it all over again?

Maybe.

I absolutely love how the car sits. My fenders have not been pulled, only rolled. My fender roller didn't realize the rears on this car could be rolled originally, which is why all 4 weren't done originally. My FR-S was actually the first of these he had done.

Not the first person I've heard say this. I want to fishbowl this time around. My previous car had pretty dark tint.

Haha, alright. That poor screw. lol.

It really is. lol.

I really have to be cornering hard for it to rub. Granted, that was before rolling the rears. I haven't pushed it that hard since getting them rolled and grinding out that tab lastnight. Will report back.

My tab is almost gone but not like King tut's. It stopped rubbing already but if I go with a wider tire then I might need to get a "screw" myself lol.

Attended Fixxfest at Bradenton Motorsports Park this past weekend.

It's a pretty decent sized euro show. Car got a lot of love.

A tastefully modded car is a tastefully modded car I suppose, regardless of where your brand loyalty lies.

I have 255/40/18 Michelin PSS and i ended up cutting a square portion of the plastic out where the rear tab was being ground. Then added another bolt to hold the plastic to the bumper...probably didnt even need to do that even. But yeah i probably could have let it just grind down, it wouldnt have hurt the tire.

You rubbed on 255's also? Crazy. I thought 255 would've been that sweet spot.

Yeah, once it grinds it down, it's still held on pretty tight by other means.

In hindsight, I think maybe a less wide tire might've made things "easier" but there is no substituting the 265/35 fitment. I get so many compliments and I really enjoy the ride and lack of stretch.

Quick update.

I scooped up a used Grimmspeed oil cap a few weeks ago. I originally had no intention of getting this purely cosmetic piece to go under the hood but the price I was able to get it at, I figured, what the heck. It's been sitting in a box in my garage. I'll prob just throw it on once I do my first oil change, which is coming soon.

I also managed to find a Grimmspeed strut bar and master cylinder brace in the classifieds for a good price as well. Those are both en route.

I really applaud Grimmspeed for their practices - showing quantitative data of how their products actually work, rather than just assuming people will purchase things based on their namesake. For example, the TRD strut bar, in my subjective opinion, appears to be more of a bling piece more than anything - while the grimmspeed is definitely built for function.

The strut bar is designed to provide stiffness between the front strut towers enhancing stability and sharpening steering response while the master cylinder brace is designed to tighten up brake feel/response by reducing firewall flexing during braking.

I'll post feedback once the GS bits get here and I get them installed.
