Guys, I don't understand why you keep coming back to bash on Ecutek about end user tuning. Thus far, that's not the product they are selling. You wouldn't go to the pet store and bash them for not having motor oil on the shelf. So why does this company get all this negative attention for selling a product that you don't want? There are other products that do what you want, maybe not as well, but why don't you go after them for having a substandard product instead?

I can see stating your concern or making a suggestion, but the frequency of these complaints is ridiculous.

Yeah... I think this thread should be deleted and just start over. Lots of bickering and completely pointless thread crapping.

Ecutek finally says they are going to make a presence on the forums, and we come across as unappreciative asshats.

It still takes a few months and we support GT-R, STi/WRX, 370Z, Mazda MX 5, CX 5, MPS, 6 and diesels, Subaru DiT, BRZ/GT-86/FR-S to name but a few and we have suggestions by the hundreds coming into us every day as to what we should do next, extra features here, updates there. So it becomes a commercial decision as to where we apply our limited resources to get maximum effect. We have 3 people working constantly on our GT-86/BRZ/FR-S announcement at the moment so rest assured there is a lot of focus on your community of owners. We are trying to do our best for you.
I wasn't trying to sound like you guys aren't working hard. Just trying to understand why the features for one vehicle that maybe helpful for another vehicle are not being utilized. I realize time and money are always a factor demand is always high for a large variety of things this product could do. It just seems like features that are developed for one should be developed for another. That wouldn't hurt your demand it would improve it.

Im not trying to start a big huge debate. I think your product is very impressive and powerful for using the stock ECU. That is all I wont be commenting in this thread until the full news release is made.

If only it was that simple. All we can say is we are working on something for you guys, it does take time, and when we announce it, we want to be able to make it available quickly afterwards. We don’t want to announce and then have it drag on before we can deliver what we are announcing. We feel that puts your best interests at heart.

Where have I complained? I already purchased the EcuTek product. I made suggestions as to what I hope the announcement is.

One could construe this as an announcement...of a pending announcement.

The issue comes up a lot, but honestly I was surprised to see you post about it. Sorry for the blanket statement.

I can see your point. The gtr is definitely a more sophisticated car in stock form, at 4 times the price so it should be. The vast majority of us that are turbocharged are also using ecutek so you are fortunate to have a captive audience, for now. The current licensed feature set is a one size fits all approach where all features are exposed to the master tuner regardless if the end user really has value for them. While I may get blasted for this statement by other forum members, I would gladly pay a higher license cost for advanced functions like boost control. However I have don't have value for features my car will never utilize as an AT car. Not sure if this license structure is feasible, but may be a way to help finance adding features to the base platform.
