BRZ..This is A Beauty....The waiting for it is The BEAST!

That is a For sure Turbo Trim lvl according to the Hood Scoop. I Drool so much every time I see it. I know that Subaru is Fully CAPABLE of producing this car. I know because of the Contract to the Toyota, they can not FI this car Just YET!!!

I am waiting, and Drooling so much.

The Good side is that I am saving up money as I drool, and not spending on a Regular BRZ yet as I have a perfect Daily Driver.

Bring it on Subaru !!!!

Keep saving that money and you'll have enough for a much better car, or maybe 2 BRZ. Or you can just wake up and stick with the "regular" BRZ.

It's a subaru concept. That means actual production will reflect... oh... 5% of it, probably the fenders... a bit.

Unless you have different quotes from some of the leadership at Subaru, I have heard nothing but 'NA' for the STI. Also, what contract are you speaking of? Is this something I missed?

The contract from the trade between Suba and Toya

Suba get DI from Toya

Toya get Boxer from Suba

Suba manufacture the car

Toya Engineer the car, and it will be NA only from the way Toyota engineered it

Each one have Technologies going to another, and before the time served, non can modify each other Technologies.

Basically, Toyota do not own Boxer yet (FA20), and the same as Subaru does not own DI and the Platform. When the contract ends, DI and Chasis will be Rightfully into Subaru to do whatever, and Toyota will have full rights to modify Boxer engine

Therefore, Suba can use FA20 in the WRX or whatever turbo charged it, but can not use the DI....They are not full of right for it yet

I hear it is 3-4 years contract. Many people is expecting it as early as 3 years, which is 2015-2016 model

Actually Subaru did 99% of the engineering for the BRZ. They used Toyota's DI system, but other than that, it's entirely Subaru. Toyota did almost all of the exterior/interior design work.

The idea is, Toyota came to Subaru because they wanted to make something sporty and RWD, and Toyota owns a small portion of stock in FHI. Toyota contributes design and DI system, Subaru uses a platform of their creation, and manufactures it. Toyota is allowed to market it as a Toyota/Scion, while Subaru is allowed to sell a higher end version as a branded Subaru.

Also, the reason they're using the FA20 in so many applications now, is because it's their engine, and they just slap their own DI system into it, turbo it, etc; and off they go.

That is more accurate. I put it wrong, and you are right. Subaru engineered it, but the Chasis, and the styling, interior is from Toyota.

Fact is that Toyota is now very Mad at Subaru for having an Expensive Power-train in it. The produced vehicle was more expensive than Toyota Anticipated. They are blaming Subaru for this.

Subaru Engineered the FA20 with Turbo charging in mind. Therefore, it comes with Expensive Power-train.

From all of those info, I would take it that the BRZ is with better quality and rigidity on the Drive-train

looool. you don't actually think for a second that Subaru actually engineered this car right?

Just to give you some perspective in case you think there may be some bias, Toyota made some of the best sports/performance cars in the world with the most bulletproof engines (supra, celica, AE86) while Subaru still cant manage to beat its evo competitor. Subaru makes meh engines that cant handle much power (360whp for the EJ25 as I remember) while Toyota make engines that receive nothing but praise. Why would subaru even agree to go against its AWD turbo sports car philosophy to engineer a car that has TOYOTA ancestry. I'm sure Toyota even played a significant part in the engine as this FA20 is worlds apart from what the EJ ever was. Subarus main contribution is the boxer engine and chassis canvas aswell as manufacture.

^^ someone apparently doesn't believe what's in front of his face:

Subaru engine, subaru-designed power train, subaru designed suspension, subaru-manufactured.

Toyota designed aerodynamics, toyota injection system, toyota exterior and interior styling.

Subaru designed what they do best: the guts. Toyota contributed their hybrid injection system and their aero and style folks. It's still mostly a subaru on the inside.
