Does anyone else think it looks like an Aston Martin Rapide?

In what will surely be a major sales success for Hyundai, the all-new 2014 Genesis sedan has just had its live debut at an event in Seoul, South Korea. It embodies the automaker’s latest styling language, called Fluidic Sculpture, and an overall major step up in both refinement and luxury. The exterior looks great, but we couldn’t help but notice some heavy Aston Rapide influence in the front grille design. Regardless, there are HID headlamps with LED indicators and LED taillamps.

We like it. It’s definitely an improvement over the somewhat bland-looking current model. It’s also lighter thanks to greater use of high-strength lightweight steel. The interior is made from higher grade materials throughout and features a simplified dash design. Storage space is up as well as front and rear headroom and legroom. Wheel sizes range from 17- to 19-inches. Rear-wheel-drive remains standard and all-wheel drive is optional. US powertrain details haven’t been announced, but depending on the market the Genesis comes standard with a 3.0-liter V6 with 257 horsepower.
Other engine options include 3.3- and 3.8-liter V6s with 282 and 315 hp respectively. The top trim 5.0-liter V8 returns with 425 ponies, and all engines come paired to an eight-speed automatic. The V8 will for sure be offered in the US as well as the 3.8 V6. Some new safety features include a Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Keeping Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. An official US reveal is expected this January at Detroit.

The front reminds me of a Chevy Malibu.

And the back reminds of the Elantra.

I always liked the Genesis line, especially the coupe. I hope they get rid of the current front end on the coupe and redesign it soon as well.

Exterior looks like a cross between the 7 series and S class, interior rips off Audi and Jaguar. Completely unoriginal crap.

My favorite description of this car someone said that it looked like a generic car made from GTA.

It looks great in my opinion.. Most car brands also share character lines here and there and I would not be surprised if Hyundai has it on this one. Would I want to own this new Genesis sedan? I would say yes, if it is priced right.

The DH has gained roughly 130 pounds over its predecessor, so the company will count it a success if it's able to maintain ratings of 18 miles per gallon city and 27 mpg highway for the V6, with a 15/23 split for the V8. Those numbers are only just class-competitive as of today. It's fair to say that customers considering fuel economy highly might very well have their heads turned by more parsimonious options by the time the 2015 model year cars start hitting showrooms."
