So - for 99 cents I got a pack of snowman snot (sticky gum for fridge post it notes) and made a dam that channels the water away from the top of the tail lights.

Seems to work so far , waiting for more temp and humidity extremes to be sure. Will post pics soon.

Basically what the guy above me said. Openbtrunk and look at where the trunk lid strut attaches above the headlight. cant reach and are sure to decay in there. I suspect winter thawing and freezing water will allow water in around the seal.

I put the snot all along the edges of the black plastic where it meets the metal body thus allowing the water to flow over top instead of under and into the gaskets.

My right taillight was replaced under warranty due to condensation. Left taillight replaced from damage from a collision. The body shop mentioned they were aware of the problems we are experiencing with condensation. Attribute it to poor gasket seal and replaced the gasket out of their own pocket rather then reusing the original gasket. Very nice of them!

My right tail light just started showing this problem after 6K miles. Time to make a trip to the dealership.

It seems to be always the right tail light.

Call ahead of time and make sure they have the part, they don't seem to keep FR-S headlights laying around.

They overnighted mine and install took less than an hour.

I'll do that. Thanks for the heads up.

Come to think of it, all the pics and the issues I have seen IRL actually have been the rear right light (personally seen two at autoX events).

Huh, wonder why... do we have any reported cases of the LEFT light getting all wet (see what I did there)?

Mine had both really bad, for some reason the left dried out over the summer while the right did not.

Now you really got me thinking... maybe both tail lights have the issue but one breathes better than the other allowing it to dry out?

Damn, I really wish I could scrounge around the boot of one. Again, still need more facts and experimentation to figure out why this is happening or just do like everyone else and beef up the gasket.

My right had issues soon after purchase last summer, but im lazy and never took it in. It eventually went away. Now the left one is showing significant condensation.

Let me know how you make out with that. If it eventually goes away and both lights work perfectly fine, it could be a long arse curing process for the sealant? I am guessing wildly here with no true information...
