"Curb weight for the base model is 3267 lb. That's a mere 60 lbs heavier that the previous WRX, but it should be noted that the CVT equipped car carries a hefty weight penalty of 166 lbs." In 2011 the STi was around 200 lbs heavier than the WRX, so the 2015 should be the same, unless Subaru pulls a miracle. |

Could you imagine if Subaru made the BRZ by themselves.

The WRX simply needs to go back on a diet and same goes for the Legacy. I can't stand seeing Subaru making these cars bigger when they don't need to be.

You said the ceiling wasnt as high. Thats not true. You said it is harder to get power. Thats not true. And you asked why subaru was moving away from what made them successful and then began to knock their standard 2.0 displacement and the fact that they are offering an AT again. Neither of those things is a move away from their success.
Either way check out the FB20 DIT, it's a potent powerhouse with plenty more oomph to spare; it's also more powerful than any WRX's 2.5EJ has ever been so it is not a regression and is a replacement to displacement. |
