hi
the inital allocation for cars to dealers is rumoured to be only 2 per dealership.. the lightweight dealers will probably not get any, or maybe 1..
The planned yearly production is only about 1500 for the year... and about 1800 for next year.
I've heard the 2 models will be called the GT and then the GTS....
So I guess GT86 and GTS86 or something like that would be the killer plates to have....

who got those??
8th June launch.
Or the 8th of the 6th..
8 - 6
And I was corrected as to how to say it.. I've been saying "eighty six"... when it is meant to be pronounced "eight six"..

there you go...

do you mean these are the numbers we are getting in Australia?

that's about 250/mth for 2012 and 150/mth for 2013.

Just putting this out there, but would anyone from QLD be interested in buying my FT86 plates?

It's looking highly unlikely that I'll be able to buy the 86 any time soon.

How much are personal Aussie plates? In Toronto they're $250 CDN!
...ammm, wasn't the 'FT' part of FT86 standing for Future Toyota?
I thought a few of their concepts started with FT???
Once in production they dropped the FT!

You're new here, aren't you? Haha. Yes, for the first few years everyone knew it as the FT86, hence the URL of the website you're on. The production version is only known as the 86, GT86, FR-S or BRZ, in Australialand they call it the 86. It was inspired by the FT86, so as far as I'm concerned (and a lot of people will be), it's still an FT86.

The cost of personalized plates in Australia varies from state to state. I believe in some states you "rent" the combination, but in Queensland you purchase a combination outright. As it stands, 3Lx2N or 2Nx3L (where N = numbers and L = letters) combinations start at around AU$400. 2Lx2N are $1000. "Prestige" plates (3-6 figures, any combination of letters and numbers) are $2200, and for a week every year you can get 7 letter plates for $3300. In the two most expensive brackets you can insert a space as well.

what should I do?
I currently own the "QIK" plate in victoria its either put these across to the 86 or order custom plates "QIK86" or signature plates "NA-86" or "******" (which are surprisingly still available i think because of price tag lol 2k).
