This letter should have been sent out a few weeks ago. It looks to me like that's when it was written. It almost feels like its just to placate us for a little while. Scion keeps dangling carrots just out of our reach.

A bit lame for sure. On the other hand I'm buying a car, so all I except from them is a car. I do not think I'm entitled to anything else.

I'll be quite happy to get my package, because it confirms the dealership did what they were supposed to do with my deposit. Lets just say they didn't leave me with 100% confidence. (Oh wait, I think I mentioned that before).

Like ^Brett^, all I really expected is the car so anything else is just sweet slick ice on a big empty parking lot.

Go back and read the "First86" rules and show me where there's anything that says you will be placated periodically until the car arrives. We were told UP FRONT that it would be May before we get the car. We weren't told we'd be getting any little surprises or trinkets to keep us happy. I'm just happy I'm getting the car. That's good enough for me. Our society has become a bunch of whining spoiled little brats!!!

In addition, I'm glad they're asking me what size I wear before they send me random stuff. Sure I think e-mail would've been more efficient, but whatever.

Honestly this is probably a nicer keychain than I've gotten with any other new car I've purchased :P

Thats cool they are asking those questions. You know that you are getting stuff now, as there would be no other reason to ask some of those.

I think something unique on the car would outweigh any other merch though. A plaque, or special armrest cover like the ITR, or even special exterior items, such as "First 86" emblem right under the boxer/86 logo.

You need to calm down buddy. No one said they were entitled to anything. I could care less if I get anything. My point was this is just a marketing ploy to keep/get people excited about the car. However, I don't think it's being very effective, if anything it's not helping very much at all. In this age of technology I would have thought Scion could create a website exclusively for the First 86 to go to and provide info & get details, but that's just my opinion.

However, I do agree with you that our society is becoming one with a sense of entitlement. It starts from the top and works its way down (off my soap box now).
