I Highly doubt that our BRZ transmissions are designed for drop-clutching.

I have been noticing a lot of missed shifts in my car.
It is used and had 9k miles on it when I got it, 11k now. I have driven all kinds of MTs in my life and have had more missed shifts in this car than almost all my other cars combined. I have NOT changed the fluid yet, but plan to soon. Just the other day I had a particularly nasty one. I was driving casually, shifted 2nd to 3rd and ground it so hard it scared me (like it bit me). I immediately took my hand off the shifter and pushed in the clutch, and when I looked down I saw the shift lever complete the move into third by itself when I pressed the clutch. I let out the clutch (again without touching the shiter) and it was in third. So that means that my "missed shift" got the tranny part way into third and my, essentially, double clutch completed the shift. Seems that the tranny can get part way into third and get "caught". When I got out of the car I could smell the burnt gears, so I was NOT pleased. Anyone else noticed any odd behavior when they "miss a shift"? |

On the bright side, I like how with this car it matters how you drive because it will show right away, there's no fluffy mistake forgiving vagueness in any of the controls...
