^ What a badass he is and how hard he drives it through the backroads. I think that's the image he's going after. It's not lazyness, there's a car wash across the street from work, and we make good money... Anyway, today's rain ruined his 2 month dirt layer

I like the running lights for the buddy clubs...I hate the flickering pattern for brakes and turn signals...if it was just the inner arrows pointing the direction of your turn and the rest of the lights solid brake lights. Then I might have gone that route. I really like the Valante's reverse light replacement with the 5 strobe then solid brake light option built in.

Man, I remember when I could drive to college and spot a good 2 to 5 88 to 91 unmolested Honda Civic Si's. Now its been years since I've seen anything I could triad being an Si. I watched the evolution of the whole scene but never Hung around the with those cliques. So ricer is more of a newer word for me but I've been thinking about starting up Concourse competitions for originals Japanese cars from the mid 90s on back because its a damn shame. Those old Honda civic Si's in their original condition are beyond rare!

I think wings look good on this car - it gives it a sort of sporty look; although on a white car like the one pictured I think that it does stand out a bit too much.

That being said, I think there are people that throw a bunch of miss-matched crap on their car for the sole sake of getting attention and looks, but in general I think the term "ricer" is starting to get thrown around too much - I think it's a bit ridiculous to label someone like that because they put - for example - a wing on their car.

One of the great things about this car is how much you can do to customize, and personalize it. By your logic anyone that puts in aftermarket tail lights, etc is "ricer" since those things don't serve to enhance anything over stock ones other than cosmetically - or hell, even the "functional" mods that people put into their car might as well be labeled ricer as well since those people aren't tracking their car, or are rarely achieving speeds that would allow those mods to benefit them at all.

I'm not trying to be a jackass, I just think it's nice to see people stylizing these cars, and I think too many people are quick to throw around the term ricer without necessarily knowing what it means.

Now if someone's car is decked out in shit that is serving no purpose other than to call attention to themselves, make the car inherently worse at what it does, and / or can be both dangerous / distracting to them or other drivers, that's a different sort of story.

tldr; merry Christmas

So what you're saying is that a big ridiculous wing on this car isn't rice because it looks good? lol... if you're adding what should be used as a performance mod to your car purely for cosmetic reasons, how is that not rice?

Also, I never said that cosmetic mods were rice. Some nice looking tail lights are fine. There's a big difference between trying to make your car look like a race car with its stock 200 hp and personalizing the car with some tasteful cosmetic mods.

I find it funny when people go out and spend $5-10k on cosmetic mods like body kits and loud (fart can) mufflers to make their car look and sound fast and... don't do a damn thing to make the car actually fast. THAT's what I consider rice.

All I was trying to point out is that they might not be trying to make it "look like a race car" or anything in specific at all - they might just like the way something looks, or what it adds to the car. What you might find to be tasteful cosmetic mods others might hate or dislike, but should you be called a ricer for that because someone else has a different idea of what is tasteful, and will look good on the vehicle?

To a degree we have to let people do what they want with their car without getting crap for it - if it doesn't fall into one of the categories I mentioned in the last paragraph of my previous post. That's just my opinion though, and I didn't mean any offense by it
