EFR6258 vs GTx2863R
What would you use for a ~320whp street setup?
Obviously all supporting mods, fuel system, clutch, yada yada. Ignoring price factor - they are close enough to not be a consideration. I like the all in one package with the EFR. I like the V band housing you can get with the GTX, although I hear there is a v-band option coming for the BW. Can't believe there isnt more setups around with either of these two turbos to be honest. |

EFR is a bit pricey, GTX is a bit cheaper. Both should get you to 320whp on 93. And every turbo kit I've seen has the option to upgrade to the GTX series (28 or 30 and even 35 from FBM). If price isn't an a factor, I'd go EFR and get a custom turbo kit fabbed up.

i'd stick to the garrett. gtx has a great compressor, and the gt in general is a well-known quantity.

Nothing beats a Garrett. All other turbos are a compromise. I've built custom turbo kits for the Borg turbos with my EJ series twin scroll kits. They spooled 1000 rpm slower than the Garrett GT35R. The GTX series is even better. The GTX28 is good for 475 hp. That's your turbo. Btw, it makes 300 whp on CA poop 91 on my BRZ.

Scoobyrs25, what efr did you use when setting up your car that spooled slower then a 35r? Also look into other markets and the efr it out producing and spooling better then gt's and gtx's when compared to similar sized turbos.
