rims dont fit over hub - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

What size and type of wheel spacers do I need to fit my rims. My new rims hub opening is only 2" and our inner hub circle and oem rim opening is about 2 1/4. I want the rims to sit flush against the hub.

This is confusing, you lowered it and now want or need spacers? You bought different wheels and now need hubcentric rings? Sorry not clear on what you are asking help for here exactly....

I bought 19" inch trd rims. They were off a scion tc. Lug spacing in 5x100 but when I go to mount it rocks on my center hub. The center bore of the rim is a little too small

Yep, those are a 54mm center bore, our cars are 56.1mm. You'll need to take them to a machine shop and have them enlarged slightly if you want to use them.

If you must use these wheels, you'll need a minimum 10mm spacer. Which means one of two choices:

1) extended studs
2) bolt-on spacers (usually min. 15mm)

This is also assuming your wheels have the proper holes for the studs/lugs to pass through. If you're not sure about this or don't know what I'm talking about, just get rid of the wheels and save yourself the trouble......... unless you got the wheels for free. At which point I'd just resell them to a tC guy and get a decent set of wheels that actually fit the car.

My only advice against this is that some wheels are designed for specific center bores, and removing material around it may reduce structural integrity of the whee.

It most likely won't be an issue with heavy OEM-type wheels, but just FYI.

The only way the rims are going to sit flush against the hubs are going to be to take them to a machine shop to have them open up the bore. I wouldn't worry about shaving a couple mils off the diamteter. I don't see it hurting the structural integrity of the wheel. I would rather do that and keep them hub centric then run a set of non hubcentric spacers and the wheels on top of that.

Machining the center bore 2.1mm larger is fine. I work for a wheel manufacturer, and we regularly bore out wheels from 57.1mm all the way up to 74.1mm.
