Finally moving on! Rotaries should be sold in other markets, Mazda can still make money just not in cars.

But I digress and I agree with what you said with the exception of the noise. There is nothing quite as horrific as the sound of a rotary engine, especially at the race track. If I am unfortunate enough to have to paddock by one I will try to place a trailer or tow vehicle between their car and my paddock spot. They make like 96dB while idling. I have to wear earplugs in the paddock! The gasses that leave the tail pipe are so bad that if you follow one long enough on the race track your eyes will begin watering and shortly after that you will become dizzy. I shit you not. This has physically happened to me more than once. I like the MX-7 coupe idea and with the new SkyActive engines it would be fun, fast, reliable and efficient. That would be neat. Mazda needs another rwd sports coupe. If the 6 was RWD, I would have traded in my FRS already.

If I was poorer, I would hypermile the brz in order to save enough money to buy parts to support tracking it. economy does matter when our budgets are limited and modest...

Honestly, I don't care about the rotary engine, I care about some hardtop MX-5, that was the RX-7 but with rotary engine.

Engineering-wise, I don't see how a rotary motor can't be made more reliable. Obviously, since there aren't enough mass produced rotary motors made, the technology and money to make them more reliable and fuel efficient never really developed. the only way the money and technology will develop is if companies start making and perfecting rotary motors.
I, for one, would love to see rotary motors make a come back. But I'm a bit idealistic. |

The skyactive engine operates on the Atkinson cycle which compromises power for efficiency. Hardly exciting from a performance perspective. The zoom zoom/rust rust brand has somehow averted bankruptcy despite having zero North American production when currencyconversion demands manufacturers to do so.
They can keep their tin cans AFAIC. Wanna keep all your money in Japan, then try and make all their money there too. You get your share just as you give your share. Thumbs down.
