I would think these would be a better choice for a beginner than the Club Sport pads.
I started out with PMu CR as a beginner, never used 800, and after 10 track days moved on to 999 and dayum 999 is da bomb. If u r using as a street pads too then 800 will be better but guranteed after 5 track days experience it will start to fade when u become faster

How was the noise level on the street? Silent? or Screetching?

I have a little bit of squeal under light brake pressure. I also didn't shim or grease them which many people do to eliminate the sound. They do dust a fair amount but my experience is any hybrid or track pad dusts.

How is the 999 on your rotors? Once I started using really agressive pads (Carbotech XP12) on an OEM brake system I would have to replace rotors every 3-4 track days to avoid fully fracturing OEM replacement rotors.

After you get fast enough you shouldn't use hybrid pads at all. I didn't get the impression that was the case with the guy asking for advice. Most people start out with a hybrid pad so they don't have to keep swapping brake pads every event. If they get to the point to out grow a hybrid pad the pad set will be close to being toast anyway so it'll be a good time to upgrade.

999 is awesome, after 6 track events I still hv 50% left front and 70% left rear which CR def wears out faster. OEM rotors are still in good shape after 15 track events with CR and 999, no signs of deep groves or stress fractures, pretty amazing plus they cost like $30 each rotor

I am seriously considering it. It is either this one or the GDS one at Thill.
I will more than likely be at this one. I'll make a decision after Sonoma Raceway on 11/23 w/ TrackMasters Racing.

Unfortunately, I've already signed up with HOD at T-hill for the day before. Pricey, but good for my friend, who's having his very first track day. Let me know how it goes, never head of City Tech before and I'm curious how organized they are.

Nice! Be sure to say hi as I'll be there that day as well. HOD is by far my favorite organization for track days, and especially good if it's your first time.
