That's NISMO as in Juke NISMO version! The NISMO Z is hideous.

So instead of creating yet anther 370z vs FRS/BRZ thread I figured Id just post in this and give my .02
I have just traded in the FRS for a 2013 370Z with sport package. The sport package includes upgraded suspension, big brake kit, and larger forged ray wheels. That alone for the FRS a quality suspension, brakes, and wheels you are looking at almost 10k after everything is said and done. I also was able to find a new 2013 and get a hell of a deal on it as they were trying to clear them out to make way for the unchanged 2014. Therefore I was able to get about 6k below MSRP. I have mods done to the car but after seeing my trade in value it has all come off and the dealer will get a bone stock FRS. Since the 370z does not come with any nav/bluetooth/etc unless you get the touring with navigation package I was able to swap my Pioneer Double Din radio straight from the FRS to the 370Z and have all that without the extra 10k Nissan charges for that. In the end to me the 370Z has always been a clear winner. When I first bought the FRS a year ago I would have loved a 370Z but wasnt in my price range. Since then I have changed jobs and am definetly looking for more power. I do mainly freeway driving and in order to get any umphh out of the FRS i have to drop 2 or 3 gears and then still wait to slowly climb in speed. The power is just there for the 370Z. Interior wise the 370Z wins hands down. Less plastic and more finished look I feel like. As far as the 2 seat thing goes I dont use the FRS rear seats anyways. If anything the hatch of the 370Z will actually prove more usefull to me as I haul more stuff then i do passengers. Finally, I see this car as one that mods are not needed whereas I modded the FRS to try to get it to look how I wanted due to scions 1 spec model. And was met with nothing but Toyota Techs who hate the car because they dont know how to work on Subaru engines and dealers who like to look at the car and admire the mods but will come up with every excuse in the book about how Toyota is "investigating the issue and does not have a solution yet".

I had narrowed down my choice of sports cars to the 370Z. I test drove both auto & manual base models. It handles well and has nice acceleration, but I felt like there was something missing. It did irritate me that to get Bluetooth I had to upgrade to the touring package then add the electronics package boosting the base price from 29,900 to about 38,000 so I felt they totally cheaped out on the telematics. Their models at 1/2 the price have Bluetooth, so that was a deal breaker of sorts.
I left the dealer thinking meh..not a bad car but it didn't excite me. Then I was looking on the internet and came across the Scion FR-S.(I thought Scion what the hell is that), but the car had beautiful lines, so I tracked down a dealer and took some test drives, both manual & Auto. I liked the Series 10 extras and after the test drive. I made an offer and subsequently closed the deal. Bottom line this car is just fun to drive and I love the paddle shifters. I did some track driving a few weeks prior in the Porsche 911-4S and this car felt a lot like it. It's like 85% of a Porsche for 20% of the price.... Don't get me wrong the 370Z is nice, but the FR-S just more fun |

I love the Z, still haven't made my mind to get a brz or the Z (2 different cars i know). 330 horses right out the box and it came with the synchro rev match that would blip the throttle for you(feature can be turned off) I think its been untouched performance wise since 09 and still holds up as a modern day sports car..god just look at that beefy rear end

My auto does that, you need a manual stick to have the computer figure it out for you? What do you mean by untouched performance wise? If you can't decide, get the Z because that means you don't appreciate what the BRZ is about. |

Things I like about the Z:
the power the looks Things I don't like about the Z: the weight the handling those stupid door handles the price (unless you get a base with no options these things are expensive) |

You can easily get a 2014 for under $27k now brand new. Yes, its a base but it's not like you're getting anything fancy with the FR-S and the BRZ only has a few frills. Now is the time to do it if you're set on the Z.

That said, I like the 370z. It's not a bad car. Just a lot heavier than I'd want. But if you're ok with its weight, it's a good time to buy with the price drop.
