Any updates? It's almost been a month and I'm starting to check out my options for FI.

@Rev Works - Thank you for posting your kit and sharing with everyone your philosophy and reasoning behind your build. That being said, this may sound like an odd perspective of a question but bare with me...

If Toyota were to have released a Forced Induction 86, could you hold the position that your Rev Works Kit would be at the same level of value/overall quality than the hypothetical Toyota FI kit?

The perspective I am asking the question comes from using Mazda as an example. Mazda releases a FI version of their Mazda 3 i.e. the Mazdaspeed 3. Mazda is confident enough that they can release a turbo car that's engine will sustain life, persist in consistent reliability and leave the driver with an overall feeling of content and/or happiness.

Um, an OEM is going to do considerable amount more engineering, mostly to the block design or internal components. So no, their kit isn't going to as reliable as any OEM setup from the factory, but then again no aftermarket kit is. Factory forged internals aren't the greatest, but they are certainly better than cast internals. As far as the reliability of their kit, the only two things that you need to worry about for longevity are proper tuning, and oiling, in that order. Tuning is by far the largest factor. Doesn't matter how beefy your internals are if you are getting detonation.

Idk what their oil system looks like, but that coupled with oil temps are the other one, which is less of an issue unless you are womping on it for an extended period of time.

Oil coolers will do wonders for longevity on even stock cars.

My intake air temps are typically ambient or a few degrees above under boost, so apparently that doesn't matter. At idle the temps creep up when sitting still, then as soon as you get started moving it drops back down to around ambient temp.

Has it been soon yet?

So will this kit require any cutting ?? Will you still be able to keep the water bottle for windows?

And are you able to supply boost graph?

Will we be able to fit an upgraded radiator with this kit as well?

i can answer those questions in to the best of my ability as an owner of the kit:

no it doesn't require cutting that i'm aware of.

i chose to delete the washer bottle. you can add an aftermarket one if you want.

i've posted boost graphs already, but if you like i can re-post them here.

i don't track my car, so i'm not sure about the radiator compatibility. i wouldn't imagine it's any different than any other front-mount turbo kit in that regard.

The only cutting we had to do was cut the stock Fan shroud in half and replace one side of the fans with a slim-line radiator fan which is included in the kit. Other than that the kit works with every other component on the car. The Washer bottle does get removed, due to the Intercooler pipe routing using the space where it would normally be. As James said though, it is as simple as getting a smaller universal bottle and placing it somewhere in the engine bay if one needs to retain the washer bottle.
