I got mine replaced before you did as well, but on 10/21 (they ordered the pump between 10/11 and 10/18). No crickets (yet?)and I have 600 miles on it so far.

Next time we run into each other we can see if they look the same or not.

The part number matches the new Subaru TSB, but the question is, did the actual new part get used or was it a shelved one from before and they just printed the new part number? Regardless questions need to be asked at the dealer because this new pump by far is the quietest I've ever heard my car and there are at least 10-15 others now that can confirm the same who have driven even further than I have.

Agreed. The new pump is smooth. My car seems to idle better with it. Less vibrations. But it could be in my head. The noise probably made it "feel" worse than it actually was.

We are all so accustomed to the sound of crickets, it's weird now that they are not there anymore. I know it was for me at least. I sure don't miss them though.

Hopefully the two weeks is solid, my rep was ordering the pump and other parts per REV2 hopefully this new TSB is here before the other parts arrive.

I've got some bad news guys. My chirps have returned at the 300 mile mark. It's currently 55 degrees outside, with a 46 degree wind chill. I ran one errand after work and as soon as I pulled into a parking spot, I could have sworn I heard a familiar noise. After being home for an hour, I went back out and started it again, let it idle. More crickets again.

What a let down.... and I thought this was the magical pump I was waiting for. Guess I get to wait another year.

So along with @infinite012 add me to the chirp list on the new pump part #.

I tried a bottle but it didn't help at all. It was a fairly decent brand.

Odd... I have three weeks and 2200 miles on the new part number pump.

It's been the best three weeks of ownership ever. Cricket free.

Sorry if this question was asked already but was the fix free? Some people said it was under warranty but i never saw a straight forward answer. Or never scrolled through one. My cars at 1500 miles with extremly loud chirping from chevron 91 gas =(. I live in socal and would like to get this fixed. How long does it take them? I need my car everyday for school/work.

It was free, and they provided me a rental car for a day that they paid for. Takes them a few hours to do the job. If you can get your car in early, it can get done same day. I dropped mine off after work and it got done the next day.

Another update: Chirps again this morning when I arrived at work. 34 degrees outside.
