Welcome to the exhaust leak group... There's been a few of us. I used it with exhaust leak for about 2 months until it got REALLY bad and needed to remove the manifold, machine it and install it back.

As far as license, did you try to apply license update?

Paul is at SEMA, that is probably why you haven't gotten a response.

Yes I've tried the update and no go. I'm not going to drive around with an exhaust leak. Did u pull off the manifold part alone or the whole turbo assembly?

Didn't you sell your kit?

Has anyone installed the AVO breather tank? For some reason the Block fitting is kinda bigger than the PCV that will replace. Any ideas?

Also, I think I may have an exhaust leak too but I need to verify.

I thought the kit was a good deal at first.. supposedly you get everything to get it to run properly for 4400 msrp. It says it comes with a supplied dongle to run the base map on the car.. there was no dongle and the ecutek cable cost another 1000$

Removed the manifold and the hot side of the turbo.

Yes, I sold my kit but fixed all the exhaust issues before selling.

@nix has it installed. You mean bigger as in the threads are bigger and it doesn't go in?

Yeah, you need a dongle to be able to transfer the license from the dongle to your ECU. It should have come in the box with your cable. I'm doing an AVO kit review thread to explain all my reasons.

The new part for the breather does fit but it take a bit to get in in. make sure the threads are clean and take you time.

for the license, the cable, dongle come as one unit and the license is as second step. Paul will have to check and make sure the license is attached to the dongle. if it is missing he will take care of the problem.

as for the leaks did you us the stock gasket or replace them with the subj gasket from the forester. We are testing the new kit that avo has released. new studs and gasket so far it is wiring great and we have not had a problem.

one thing we do to the kits we install is check each bolt to assure they are tight. if i missed something let me know.

Thanks, I had to asked because when I tried it, it didn't want to go in then I compared both and the new part seem a bit bigger ... I will try it again another time.

I did used the one that David posted a while ago, I think it is an STi gasket. Anyways, I have to check because when the car is cold it sounds loud but once it gets warm/hot it changes to normal.

Thanks again.

Yeah the gaskets I recommended are the metal ones also used on the Turbo Forester. You will distinctively notice exhaust sound coming form the front of the car if you have a leak specially when cold. Do the test I told you whenever you have a chance and will 100% know for sure if you have it or not.

Definitively there is some sound coming from the front but it does it like for ~30secs .. I still have to try what you told me since it was a great idea.

mine leaks, but its afterthe downpipe, so i just live with it for now. i don't wanna go tooling around on it for now. Life is just too hectic. It's not bad, but its always leaked there, either it or the nameless op/fp is not flat.

hmmmm....

As for your license, they don't come with licenses, you buy that separately. The cable is one price, and it is another, so you can only buy a tune and load it with a rental cable, and then go about your way, or you can invest in both.

I'm talking about the one that goes into the block, replacing the OEM PCV
