Best cheap car cover for indoor storage? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hey guys. Title says it all basically. I've searched around a bit for car covers to use for keeping the dust off the car this winter while I store it in my dad's garage on his lift, but it seems the conversation is always about outdoor covers. I don't need some expensive weather/wind resistant cover. I'm just looking for something basic that will keep dust away and not hurt the paint at all. Something made out of the stretchy material that they used to use for "book socks" back in grade school would be perfect. My other option is getting some old blankets and just laying them over the car...

Suggestions?

Childhood blankets on car!

I imagine you could just get one of the walmart specials and that would do the job.

I'm looking at ordering some stuff from http://www.autochic.com/covers.html, I'll post once I get some samples

King size matress sheets should work lol. Most households have those handy.

For inside, dust only protection I'd buy the cheapest cover I could find.

Yeah, I think a giant walmart sheet/blanket will suffice. The only reason I'm looking is because my dad does a lot of "TLC" stuff in the garage, so there is always dust flying around.

So the checking the samples I'd just look at the cotton or cotton poly. The others are kinda rough.

Unfortunately they are kinda expensive, 160 for cotton poly

. More than the OE cover which is around 105 or so.

I use those all the time. For drop cloths under tents when camping. I would never put plastic sheeting or a vinyl tarp on top of any car.

subaru has a accessory cover that isnt too expensive and was designed to fit the car properly

Saw one of their covers on a Porsche Carrera R in Florida and it fits like a glove. Outdoor BRZ cover was around $300 when I contacted Michael earlier this year.
