Wont do much for a plastic IM. Phenolics work great when trying to isolate metal from metal.

The DI has one side effect on combustion. Its a cleaner / typically more efficient / more powerful burn. But with that comes heat. On all the full DI platforms Ive played with, MS3/6 audi/vw fsi/tsi, those engines run a good bit warmer when doing runs as compared to other PI turbod platforms (DSM/Honda/Evo/EJSubarus). Slightly elevated EGTs, BATs also tended to be a little bit more then what I would expect but there are no good comparisons so its more just speculation. I know that my car heats up in about a minute or two when driving down the road significantly faster then my STi did. And it doesnt even have a oil cooler / coolant warmer like the EJ platforms did.

The innovate manifold isn't plastic though

Oh good call! Sorry I was thinking about the factory manifold. In that case there would be good benefit from phenolics!

The Innovate supercharger has been rigorously tested and does not have any issues with heat and therefore an inter cooler is not needed do to the extreme thermal efficiency of the laminova core. The heat you are experiencing is just a by product of the kit being one of the hottest products on the aftermarket scene right now.

I am not driving it right now, have to take brakes off, wheels, put a heat blanket on the supercharger, remove suspension, switch to winter tires.

Normal things.

Just switch to Vortech and all of your heat soak problems will go away. It's physics.

well, considering that when it first came out the gold standard of mobile internet was WAP and no one had ever seen a capacitive multitouch display, copy and paste wasn't much of a concern, but that's a little off-topic

When you start modifying piles of junk, you can throw normal out the window.

Good god man.. Has your opinion of the 86 really gotten this bad? I have my qualms with the platform but I'm learning to live with it. I seriously thought about selling (since my car is paid off) and buying the new Vette Stingray but I have since backed off. Anyways, hope things get better..
