How long had you been driving it before you turned it off to sit for over 2 hours?

So, you are concerned that your aluminum intake manfold retained heat over a period of a couple hours in a confined somewhat sealed area when the mass of aluminum directly below it was functioning at easily over 150 degrees for a considerable length of time?

Is that right?

Some people should not be allowed to touch the bonnet release lever.

There is a reason the OEM intake manifold is plastic and not aluminum.

1. Cheap
2. Cheap to ship
3. To get the same durability you'd have to have some heavy ass aluminum
4. Strength to weight ratio
5. Much lower cost to manufacture the intake
6. Did I mention cheap?

Plastic intakes are also easy to make smooth on the inside.

I wonder if GrimmSpeed will come out with phenolic spacers for the FA20. I had them on my STI and I could lean right on the manifold after driving it.
